What annoys you most about your S-Type??
The ACM if you have the "deluxe" stereo with the Nav screen then yes the Audio Control Module. If you have the other unit I think there are some more reasonably priced solutions? There a numerous threads where one can read and discuss this. NOT HERE.
What annoys me about my car is the frequency of maintenance items. I am looking at replacing my rear struts which are leaking oil, a rear toe adjustment link, and the golden caliper front upper control arm assemblies.
Getting tired of having car troubles every 3 months or so.

It's a fact. I'm a long term keeper of my autos and it's just what you have to put up with for having older vehicles especially once the mileage goes over 60K.
My Infiniti was no better at this than any other car either. Great car but some things just broke more frequently on that one than they should have.
Once the electrical stuff starts OMG!

Some vehicles age much better than others. Is it superior R & D, superior materials and factory practices, genetics, better-than-average maintenance by the owner, or luck of the draw? I believe it is a combination of all of the above....
My 1999 Dodge Ram pick-up (just under 63,000 miles in 11-plus years of ownership) rarely breaks and when it does, it's always a minor component such as a brake light bulb ($3), a throttle body gasket ($3), or my decision to replace a sagging plastic fastener in the engine bay with a metal screw or bolt. Granted, the catalytic converter has been replaced twice but both instances were fully covered under the emissions warranty. I may be more at fault than Dodge is for the cat failures since I now drive the truck no more than 3,000 miles per year. It needs more highway miles than I currently give it to get the cat up to temperature and keep it there for optimum performance health....
My wife's 2004 Lexus RX330 AWD SUV (120,600 miles in 5-plus years of ownership) is the same way. Other than some initial warranty work to get the heated seats properly adjusted and several Lexus recalls to address potential master brake cylinder faults and a transmission whine, this vehicle has never needed anything out-of-the-ordinary beyond a new pair of bright headlight bulbs and a $5 brass valve to replace a plastic valve that was leaking windshield washer fluid a couple of years ago....
I love our S-Type, it is truly a great bang-for-the-buck sedan, but it has always required at least twice the attention from me compared to the Ram and the Lexus. It remains to be seen how much attention our newly-acquired XK8 will need but since it is a convertible, I expect that it will require as much attention as the S-Type does. Time will tell....

That's not so hard to do something about but it is about $200-$300.
I use my Sansa Fuze via the aux jack and you can use the Ipod directly as well as a USB interface. It's not super slick like some of the on-board systems you see today from Ford and others but the audio quality is top notch if your source is.

Thanks for the heads up!
Parrot (or anyone else) offers no direct interface for the Jag it's a piggy back style system. Find one of the many existing threads on here about this and that should answer your questions.

Thanks - and you are right, there are probably cheaper options and plenty of threads on the topic.
oK, never any problem.
It came with my car yes, no the USB is either not on mine or they left the cable out. I only have the aux-in (for my Sansa Fuze) and the Ipod interface. I have as yet been unable to find the box in my car because they didn't put it where the factory installation instructions suggest.
It might all just be magic? LOL!

The only thing that bothers me about my 03 S-Type is that there is a weird squeeking noise that sounds like it is coming from the drivers side rear overhead headliner near the fold down ceiling handle. It sounds like plastic on plastic noise. anyone else have this?
That's not a rare complaint. My '08 has been doing it since new. Twice the dealer tore into the headliner to try and fix it under warranty - the car is still doing it. I've given up and live with the creaking as part of the car's "character". When the temperature outside goes above 75 deg-F, the creaking goes away. So it must be some plastic-on-plastic fastener abrasion, due to some gap somewhere that goes away when temperatures rise. I seem to recall even reading about some similar complaints on the XF. Must be that Jaguar DNA.
What annoys me the most about my 00 3.0, is that it was around 55k new and it only has ONE cupholder... My mom's saturn has 4.. I know it's a trivial thing to be annoyed at, however everything else jaguar has spent a lot of time and money on.. Im glad all my doors have ash trays though...
For me after 12 years and over 100k miles with my 2000 S-type the only issues that bug me are the slow shifting of the older 5-speed AT and my problem with window regulator failures ( 7 so far ). Other than that I still love the styling, performance, ride and efficiency of this great car. Still the best car I have owned or driven.
1) The auto door lock locked me out of the car when I closed the boot after retrieving a windshield fluid bottle (car running) with all other doors closed... on a Canadian highway in a huge snowstorm at the time with only my suit on.
2) The factory radio was dreadful and the speakers (non-Premium package) - had to replace it with an aftermarket radio to get iPod, Bluetooth affordably; and replaced the Ford Fiesta standard speakers
3) The bloody windshield wipers - replacing them is a nightmare
4) The hood windshield covers just trap snow in the winter
... little niggles really. So far
