Default What went wrong with my A/C

Hi everyone.
I have a 2006 3.0 v6
A few days ago I had my waterpump replaced because it was leaking ,and DCCV replaced because i had no heat.

I then got the car back and saw tgat the mechanic put in green/yellow coolant. I know this is wrong and it is supposed to be the correct orange coolant.

So today i flushed out all the green coolant with water, and I filled it up with water. While I did the flush, I ran the engine with the heat on. And for the first time since i got the car it had heat. I was very happy about that.

But now (with the radiator system full of water) I put the climate controll to around 18°C with the AC on. but now it just continues to blow red hot air.

What went wrong. My AC worked perfectly before.

Could it perhaps be the climate controll module in the dash (above the radio)?

Please help me. I feel like i just want to smash the car up with a hammer.

Definitely could be the module - would be my suspect #1.

Ok. I'm going to see if I can get a working one and fit it to the car.
Anything else you suspect it could be.

And just to be clear, when I talk about the climate controll module I'm talking about the part in the picture

Cheers

Here you go, written just for you:

Work through the steps in post #2 to test the operation of your new DCCV. Don’t fall into the trap of insisting a part must be good because it is new.

The guide also gives instructions how to test the inputs to the DCCV. The problem could be as simple as a blown fuse.

I’d also suggest swapping out the water for the proper coolant very soon. Years ago, I made an emergency field repair on my Jeep way out in the boonies. It had lost all coolant so I refilled the system from a convenient mountain stream. All was good but due to laziness, I put off draining and refilling with coolant. About two weeks later, the shaft seal on the water pump failed. I learned later that amongst other properties, coolant is designed to lubricate seals. The seal got chewed up running so long on plain water.

I removed my Climate controll module, and 2 lanes on the PCB are bured out.
I am going to sother in bridges (with fuses of course) and see if that works.
if not, I'll replace the unit

This link is in the diagnostic guide, but is worth repeating:

If the circuit board is damaged, most likely it was caused by the DCCV drawing too much current. Plan to replace the DCCV, too, even though it was just replaced. Sounds like it was bad from stock.

What brand DCCV is presently installed? I’d go with a different brand just to be safe.

You will have to replace with exact part number that is on module. Although the modules look the same the incorrect part will not work!!

Groovy. Previously you had mentioned adding fuses. How did you do that? Part numbers, pics, etc.

For anybody else following along, looking at the same jumper repair but thinking, “I don’t need no steenkin’ fuses…”

Yes. Here's a YouTube link to what i basically did
I just soldered in a fuse holder in the bridge, and used a 1.5Amp fuse.
