The AJ28 is the 4.0 litre variant of the AJ-V8 fitted to the X200. The main difference between the AJ28 and the AJ27 found in the X308 and X100 is the lower part of the engine and sump.

Hi
For me has to be the 4.2 V8 sc engine, sounds so sweet with a performance exhaust, great power, torque and yes so smooth
2nd has to be Jagdroid updated touch screen to android, makes the classic dash looks, great with up to date android full features, nice bit of kit
cheers
Joe
my 2000 S-type doesn’t have any beepers at all, front or back. But the PO has installed a reverse camera, which is very useful.
my PO also installed a reversed camera which I promptly uninstalled. I like my left hand on the passenger seat while I swivel my head and look at where I am going.

The "Po" is a river, the PO is the post office, Po stands for Polonium, and on a P&O ferry you can cross from Caleis to Dover with your Jag in that ferry - ...but I can't see, how any of these POs can install a reversing camera...
Well, I have two S-Types (Identical & in that wonderful metallic racing green) in my collection - thus there has to be something about that cat...
It's the overall design and memories of the golden past, due to Jaguar Designers Geoff Lawson and Ian Callum picking up on the wonderful shape of the Jaguar S-Type 1963-1968. I did cross paths with Geoff Lawson back then in 1998 (sadly memory faded after all that time), when I was working as part of the X400 design team in Coventry. I was designing a number of switches, but mainly the electrical part of the light-switch and I strongly influenced Geoff Lawson regarding the optical design of that light-switch of the X400. But while being there I also saw in the design-meeting-room that wonderful full sized clay (red-brown clay) model of the S-Type. I think I already fell in love with the new S-Type back then (long before anybody else would have seen a picture of it).
Obviously, part of the charm are the double-headlights. It's not a Jag without double headlights. I also bought the double-headlight version for my XJS, as it came with those fish-tank head lights, which really do not do the trick - and I have to replace them. And that beauty-feature of the double headlights just needs to be emphasized, which is why both of my S-Types have front (and rear and side) chrome bezels. It's worth the expense. It also reminds me a little bit of the "Schlafaugen" ("sleepy eyes") of the old VW Beetle.
And I love on the S-Type something, which is utterly invisible - you just have to know about it to appreciate it: After the second facelift in 2004, the S-Type got an aluminum bonnet (hood). My 2004 and 2005 are both past second facelift.
And the acceleration is a dream (my V6 3.0L versions do the trick). Sadly I will never be able to enjoy the speed, as the "fun police" in Australia made sure there is no fun: Except for the NT, all of Australia has a max. speed limit of 110km/h (back then in Germany I did drive speeds of up to 245km/h: VW Golf GTI, Ford Puma, VW Corrado, thus definitely double-Australian speed).
Yes, there reverse parking sensors work pretty well on the S-Type. Not sure why, but the same sensors on my X-Type were driving me nuts: There were just beeping in reverse - regardless if or if not something is behind the car. But the problem resolved itself: Without my input it stopped now beeping altogether... - better.
And the S-Type - like nearly any Jag - delivers the feeling of being at home on the road: Surrounded by wood and leather.

I know you are a poet, Peter. But also a funny man? it is too much. FYI, it took me several double-takes to work out that OP can stand for 'original post' or 'original post-ier'
Mine does not have auto dipping mirrors to aid reversing.
'Er indoors never drives it so I set the seat memory 2nd position to have the mirrors dipping to see the rear quarters and wheels.
Have to actually stop to change it but no biggy and is quite neat.
Thank you very much. I did not know that side mirrors can be controlled by memory settings. Just did the memory 2 for when parking. Great stuff.
Roberto: reg.: "I can almost hear the violin in the background"
I had to google that one, but I get it now. Yes, I love that S-Type and all the other Jags.
Btw.: I would translate "hear the violin" into German with this saying: "In den Himmel loben" = "to praise it up to heavens"...
And this one fits well to my post above:
My X-Type actually came with the "right" tyres - The name written on those tyres is "Serenity", which I of course highlighted with a white marker...
Roberto: reg.: "I know you are a poet, Peter. But also a funny man? it is too much"
I am a bit of everything - a jack of all trades...
And regarding "Funny": I was waiting since a long time to find the right opportunity to get a picture of my "other" Jag in here - I think, this is the time now...
Originally this ride-on came in orange - so I just had to respray it - so which colour, if not racing green?
JagV8: reg.: "PO = Previous Owner"
Thanks, that makes sense!
It's always a good idea to have a bull-bar (that's what we call them here).
I'd suggest it comes in handy when accidentally driving against a tree or something. The roos are too fast...
Although I admit that a Jaguar (like S-Type) with a bull-bar would look kind of odd...
And indeed - even though I would have expected to find Jaguars with a bull-bar on the net - the only one I could find was that well known mud-type: https://www.speednik.com/wp-content/...29-960x640.jpg
Thus, my mower-Jag above would be the second Jag on the net with bull bar...
The S-Type with the bull bar (on the link to the picture above) would be ready for the outback (of Australia). But it's written there that this is only a concept, so I think this is just a modified picture - but I do not doubt at all that someone in Australia has something like this.
...but not to worry: I have another "very different" Jag... - and with a bigger Bull bar than the one I have on the Jagumower:
On the back it says on the left: "This is a (Mazda) E2000", and on the right: "...thus it's an E-Type " and I added the jumping leaper emblem... On the front it says just E2000 and on the right just "E-Type "
Also note the tyres with the jumping leaper - that cat is embossed on those Supercat tyres, I just highlighted them with white marker.
Instead of the Jaguar "hood"-ornament it has a crocodile... - more suitable for Australia...
