Hello all
Some of my wheel nuts have been mangled by someone installing my tires.Any one know where I can get replacements(one was so bad I didn't install it back on).
My rear marker light has broken its attachment pieces or clips and moves around in it's housing in the fender?Any ideas where I can get one and cost?
Thanks everyone.Fitz

Fitz the factory nuts are notorious.
Search the S type section for lug nuts and you will get a wealth of info for sources of replacements.

Hey Fitz,

I have a set that i bought from Rock Auto last fall... used them for a couple hundred miles on my old S-Type before getting aftermarket wheels. They're ~ $55 new (with shipping). I've been meaning to list them in the classifieds section, but haven been too lazy. If you're interested, I'll sell 'em for $30 (includes shipping). Let me know.

All good advice. Just don't replace them with anything that has a crimped on chrome cover. That's where the problem is. Make sure they are solid one piece metal (hopefully Stainless Steel) with the proper rotating washer attached. Several factory and aftermarket solutions are out there. Note you will need a different lug wrench too.

DO NOT delay on replacing them!! We have had several people get stuck changing a tire on the side of the road when one or more of the lug nuts finally fails. You then need to get them off with brute force after getting the car towed to a shop. Depending on who does it you might destroy a rim or you might not.

I just bought a whole set from 1A Auto : Aftermarket Auto Parts, Car Body Parts, Replacement & New Automobile and Truck Parts | Buy Discount Car & Auto Parts Online
These were recommended on another thread.
[Qty] [Item number] [Description] [Unit Price] [Ext.Price]
1 1A-WHK-00044 Chrysler Sebring Wheel Nut (Box of 20);Make: Chrysler / Model: Sebring / Year: 2004 $79.95 $79.95
0 1A-WHC-00042 85-10 Chrysler, Eagle, Lexus, Mitsu, Scion, Toyota (M12-1.5 x 37mm) Mag Cap Nut (Box of 10) $0.00 $0.00

(I think what I ordered was the 1A WHC-00042 M12-1.5 x37 21mm Hex Wheel nut. No crappy cap on these, solid steel.) Though the packing slip had two part numbers on it.

I haven't had time to install them yet. They look good though.
The shop I brought my car in to get the brakes replaced couldn't get the damn crappy nuts off as the caps were stripped and spinning around without grabbing and coming off. They spend an hour tearing the caps off..in the process they did scrape up the wheels sockets a little bit.

Rockauto:
Front brakes:
Part Number Part Type Price EA Core EA Quantity Total
2002 JAGUAR S-TYPE 4.0L V8
AKEBONO ACT805 Brake Pad $ 54.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 54.79
POWER STOP AR8160XPR Rotor $ 119.99 $ 0.00 1 $ 119.99
Discount $ -8.74
Shipping Ground $ 17.52
Order Total $ 183.56

I replaced the stock rotors with some slotted and drilled ones and Akebono ceramic pads to reduce the dust.
They are great. The guys at the brake shop said they were really nice and top quality.

Got the new lug nuts on and they work great and look very nice. I had about 8 lug nuts which were stripped thanks to my mechanic who put the damn lugs on too tightly. I went to the local AutoZone and bought a spark plug socket which fit one of the stock ones very snug (3/4") as I read on another thread to hammer it on to the stipped ones. This worked like a charm. The 3/4" socket fit onto my X Lug nut wrench worked really well, though my elbow sometimes over extended when the lugs finally released. This method saved me from going to the shop and having them wreck my wheels like they did before, when they couldn't get them off before.

Hi Fitz,

I sent the lug nuts out today. You should've received an email but keep me posted on when they arrive. I love the Borla and intake elbow... the car has a nice growl from the rear and a pronounced supercharger whine up front.

Hi Fitz,

I had the status emailed to you but it looks like its hung up in the system here. I'll stop by the post office this week to find out what's going on. Thanks for letting me know.
