Default Wheel Spacers...Anyone know if they are available for the S-Type R??????

Is there a vendor/manufacturer that has wheel spacers for the S-Type R? I would like a little wider stance, which would improve handling slightly as well...

I think there was a thread about this before - try some searches. IIRC it's a really bad idea, sorry.

H&R makes them in the proper 5x108 bolt pattern.

The problem is because of the 275 tire in the rear, if you try to push the tire out, it WILL touch the top of the fender on big bumps. You really aren't going to change the handling much, if at all.. Basically, leave well enough alone is the right idea.

Jag engineers put a lot of design effort into these cars, and they could have easily specified a different wheel offset if they wanted a wider stance.

I would agree with the statement above....if you want a wider wheel for more tire you might be able to get more on the inside of the wheel well, maybe.....iforged 3pc wheels are on my horizon....

Thanks for the response guys...I could see where it would be a problem with rubbing the fender...

I'm actually wearing 255/40/19's all the way around, so it looks like I would have a little room to play with, just have to make sure they wouldn't push the tyres out to far...

Are you on Barcelonas or aftermarket wheels?

They're not the Barcelonas, but I believe they were an optional 19" in '03?

Here's a pic (I had them powdercoated)...

Those look like XF 19" wheels. Seems like you have 4 fronts. 19x9.

that would explain the tire size.

Why have you got 255 when 275 are the standard rear?
(No wonder they don't look right.)

I have been trying to find the style for awhile now...I purchased the car at the end of '07 and they were already on...the XF wasn't even in production yet, I believe...

I'm pretty sure there was an option for 19"s in '03, but I have never been able to find a catalog pic of them anywhere...

Those are not R rims.....I would agree on XF wheels, and not the XFR's

I purchased the car and had it shipped to me, I didn't even realize the setup until after I got the car...

Do you mean the actual rims do not look right on the car...or the style???

I don't think they're Carelia. Those have equally-spaced spokes but his are in pairs. They're almost Aruba but they're only 18", and almost Barcelona but not quite.

Yes, proper STR rims - which will be staggered - will look better. Hunt for some STRs for sale and see.

They are black painted 2004 XJR Wheels...

Now to go off and find the name....

The 2004 XJ8 Brochure lists them as called "Performance". They show them next to the 20" "Sepangs" and they are 19"'s.

I guess Jeff is the winner on today's episode of name that wheel!

STR Rims are 18x8 front with a 245/40/18 tire, 18x9.5 rear with a 275/35/18 tire.

Personally I'm not feeling the black rims, especially on a light colored car, but hey, if you like them, more power to you!

With an STR fitment 95% of the difference in width is made up for in offset. The rear tires do not really protrude further outwards in the wheel well relative to the fronts. You can't really tell there is a 275 back there until you look at the car from behind.

Man, I have been looking for the style forever...I knew they were a Jag rim but hadn't been able to find them anywhere...

Big props and thanks!

I'm not a fan of big wheel gaps (18") on our cars...I do like the Barcelonas...I may look into a pair of them

Rim style is definitely personal preference but I am a fan of the look...I love gunmetal colored rims on sports saloons...

The pic I added doesn't really do the car or rims justice...

Wheel gap is the same with an 18" and 19" wheel (unless you increase the overall tire diameter past the recommended size). It actually probably looks bigger with the 19" on there.

I agree it's all personal preference. Post a pic up of your entire car.
