Default Wheel Swap / Winter Use

Hi I am a new forum member and a first time Jaguar owner, my previous cars (all 44 of them!) have tended to be be either/or ancient, classic, always simple(to maintain) or Japanese (yep they really are the most reliable cars I have found). But I have taken the plunge and maybe foolishly...time will tell, bought the most complex car I have ever owned. I have sort of accepted that I will not be maintaining it myself, one look under the bonnet was enough to bring on a cold sweat!

Anyway having owned her for barely a month and loving every minute I am thinking of getting a set of "winter wheels" in order to protect the newly refurbished original fitment 18" Triton Alloys.

Can I fit a set of 16" wheels from an earlier Jaguar S-type ?
Will they fit straight on, same wheel nuts?
Will they effect the Speedo, transmission or perhaps confuse the computer (s)?
I am assuming that as long as the overall Tyre diameter remains the same all should be fine?
I am also assuming the brake disc size is the same on all models so there wont be any clearance problems?

I will also want to get a set of proper Jaguar front and rear mudflaps so if you can recommend a suitable online supplier that would also be great.

many thanks
