Default Wheel Wobble

I swapped a bunch of suspension parts on my 2k s-type, including Up&dwn ball joints, Struts & bushings along with sway bar bushings & tie rods a couple of yrs ago and only added about 7k miles since. A month ago, I started getting this terrible wobble in the steering wheel when going over small hills (fishtailing).

My mechanic told me to replace my rack & pinion and they did. But still got the wobble soon after & my right lower ball joint kept getting loose. Now I'm told the ball joint hole in the lower control arm is too big to stay tight.

Does this make sense & can anyone point me where I can get a metal sleeve to take up the slack in the control arm? Thanks.

Since you haven't received any answers to your question, my humble and not so expert advice would be to firstly make sure that you have really diagnosed the problem correctly. Then I would bring either the C. arm, or maybe even the car to a machine shop and and get them to try to properly fit the thing. Failing that, get another control arm.

Have you checked the tires? I had a car that had a really strange wobble that turned out to be the metal in the tires separating. The tread looked fine, but on a balance machine it was all out of wack.

Agreed. Start with the tires. Interior belt separation can play havoc. Look for tread separation as well....

If the hole is wallowed out, then I wouldn't mess around with it and just replace the ball joint and the control arm since it won't stay tight.

Default Bent wheel???

Don't ignore the possibility of a bent wheel. I had a previously well regarded
shop balance a wheel that was bent!! Needless to say, i won't deal with them anymore.
Good Luck!!
