I still need to know if 245/45-17 tires will fit on my 2000 S type? Tirerack says that they dont recommend any wider than 235/50-17 on the car. Anyone running the 245s? Any issues? Thanks

245/45-18 tires fit the S-Type 2000. Very smooth ride.

 

Ya tirerack is talking about where the crown of the tire sits might cause issues. I think they are just very conservative and appreciate that but the comments did give me cause to pause ya know.

It would be nice to find someone who is actually running this size. I did a search but cant turn up any results. Thanks

I have 245-45-17s on my '03, is there a difference from '01?
They were fitted when I got the car and I have replaced the fronts, no problems so far.

I just replaced my OEM (original) tires to General Exclaim UHP 245/45/17. Pretty smooth ride, considering low profile tires. The local tire shop gave me "warning" that I'm replacing it with different size.

 

This on OEM none R-type wheels?

 

I have S-Type 3.0 Sports and it came with 17" rims (7.5" x 17" Rim, 235/50R17 Tires).
