Window tinting--dark or light?
I'm taking our new (to us) zircon '06 S-Type in for window tinting this morning and trying to decide whether to go with a really dark tint or something light. I went with really dark tint on my XK but since the car is black, that made sense. With the light blue S-Type, I'm not so sure. Thoughts?

Don't forget pics when you get her back this afternoon!

PICS?!
Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. Crazy week. Anyway the interior is the light ivory/tan, not the black. We went with the medium density top line 3M. It looks great! pics to follow. The one thing that surprised me was they said they can now do the front windshield as well. You just have to provide a letter from a doctor saying there's a medical reason (ie, skin cancer) for it.
Yes, if you've had skin cancer, you can have your doctor sign a form that makes the tint on the windshield legal in Florida. The form was available at the place I had the car tinted.
Hope it's okay I jump in here with a related question?
I've never really been a "tint" guy. (I've always been a convertible guy... so.... what would've been the point?
)
Anyway:
when y'all are talking about 30%, 35%, etc etc.... is that the amount of light that is still coming-through the window? Or is that how much is being blocked? and therefore: is 35% darker than 40% ? or other way around?
My STR is silver, black interior, and I live in a desert that gets several days a year over 100df. (though you wouldn't know it, based on the 18" of snow I have on the ground right now
) I'm also a fair-skinned red-head....
So what's the tint recommendation from y'all?

McJaguar - In your neck of the woods you would want a good tint that has strong UV blockers. 3M and Saint Gobain tints are top quality and offer the UV protection.
As for the 30% 35% etc... Its the amount of light the tint lets through... Basically, the darkness of the tint.
I also have a Silver STR and have my windows tinted at 30% its dark, but you can still see through from the outside in (not limo tint). Honestly, its more than just a cosmetic mod, it makes a HUGE difference on the inside of the car and really helps to block the heat!

And I just found this from my local DMV's website:
