Windscreen & temp display

Windscreen & temp display
I’ve just purchased a 2003 S type and have noticed a couple of things that I think need to be addressed by Jaguar. When wearing Polaroid sunglasses, I cannot read the temperature display in the centre console because the polarization of the glass/plastic is wrong. It’s just all black and one has to tilt one’s head to read it. The other displays are polarized but seem to be the correct way. All the 2003/4’s I looked at seemed to have air bubbles along parts of the top front windscreen which stop the front defrost working in these areas. I was told (by a third party) this wasn’t a seating problem but was a manufacturing issue with the air inside the laminated portions of the glass. Jaguar (Canada) say, they are not aware of these problems – i.e. not many people have reported these faults, but judging by the number of cars I saw with these problems, I think it is an issue that Jaguar need to fix. How many of you out there have similar issues and have you reported them through a dealer, or to Jaguar directly? If not – please do so. The more pressure we can bring the more likely something can be done.

RE: Windscreen & temp display
The display for exterior temperature would not be considered a safety concern. Therefore Jaguar will likely not ever address it, no matter how many people have the issue. I too wear sunglasses while test driving the cars and cannot see the display either.
I do not understand what you are referring to with the bubbles.

RE: Windscreen & temp display
The bubbles I am referring to are air bubbles that have beentrapped in the laminated front windscreen. They are along the top edge of the glass where the defrost vertical elements meet the power along the top edge of the glass. Where there are bubbles, I get a strip of undefrosted glass from top to bottom of the windscreen. (In my case - two 2" strips on the driver side, and a 6" strip on the passenger side).
I get the point of the "not safety" related issue with the wrongly polarised display panels!
