Default Windshield wipers won't work on high!

Hi, I have a 2003 S-Type R and the wind shield wipers work fine on all settings except for high. I suspect it is some type of relay problem but need some help in even attempting where to start. Thank you very much!

The wiper wand may be faulty.

It may be your wiper motor. Based on my experience, most problems with wipers can be traced to the wiper motor. Changing the wiper motor takes about an hour and a reman unit from NAPA runs about $55.00.

If the motor was going bad I would think he would have more issues with it than just the high setting.

Default Fixed it!

So I took a chance and ordered a new fuse and it worked! Very bizarre as it would work on all settings except high, but for $10.00, was worth the risk! Thank you to all who responded.

Reviving this old post. Mine is doing the same thing. Is it a fuse or relay and which fuse was it.
Thanks

Wiring diagrams here:

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Scroll to section 13.1.

Note relay R15 in the front power distribution box. If R15 has failed, it can't send power to the motor's high speed windings. Try swapping R15 and R18 (washer) and see if high speed works again.

Thanks for your reply. I should have clarified that the problem is with my 2005 not my 2003. In looking at the fuse boxes it seems they are different. My problem is that the wipers will not operate in high speed. The speed is the same in positions I as it is in position II. The wipers work in both positions, but at the same speed.

Okay, follow that same link in post #8. Open the wiring diagram for your year. It's still section 13.1 for all years. The relay numbers may be different but you should find one for the high/low selection.
