This forum is great and has helped me out in finding a few issues that I was having with my 2001 s-type. I can't seem to find anywhere online that tells me what this purple/white striped wire which says speed on it goes to. It dead-ends by where my radio goes and someone had taped a green wire to it. The green wire runs back to near where the factory amp is located. If anyone could be of assistance that would be great.

That sound like its off something after market, so probably why you wont find anything
none of the oe wires have writing on them
so would look whats fitted to your car thats aftermarket thats been added and you may find what its for

Thank you, I have looked through all the electrical info from their electrical schematics, and I can't find it. I am not even sure what part of the car it is supposed to go to. It is just a dead purple with a white stripe wire running behind where the radio goes, and under the carpet on the driver's side. It baffles me.

 

i was thinking the same thing whoever put it there has it taped up along with a green wire that is spliced in all the way back to the drivers side brake light.

 

I agree, it sounds like aftermarket wires to me.
