My '05 S Type R starter motor cranks OK but does not engage the engine. Tried valet key, jump start, lock & unlock door. No warning lights or messages. Fuel and oil levels fine. Any suggestions?

There is detailed help on this but:
1. you need to post a new member intro
2. Search & FAQs & TSBs are the answer
3. if you don't do #1, you won't be able to see pics or PDFs found in #2

I'm guessing you don't mean what you say "not engage" as that would mean some big cogs are stripped!!

Check fuses and relay related to your fuel pump - when you turn the ignition on you should hear a woosh sound under the rear passenger seat for about 2 seconds. Also, when was the last time your fuel filter was changed? +1 on posting an intro in the New Member's Section...

So your starter motor is spinning over OK, but the engine itself is not turning over as I understand it.

The starter motor needs to be removed for inspection. Possibly the mechanism that extends the starter motor pinion to engage the ring gear on the transmission flex plate is jammed.

Please post a new member intro as suggested previously.

Oops... didn't read the part regarding failure of the starter to engage the flywheel Disregard feedback on fuel pump... +1 on Mikey's recommendation on removing the starter for inspection - yes, sounds like the shaft is not extending making contact with the flywheel...

In a pinch, when the pinion fails to engage the flywheel, a light tap on the starter motor may cause it to release and when you attempt to crank it again it may work. It was a common fix on Brit. Iron years ago!. Not sure if our cars have pre-engage starters or the type that spin forward.
