Wrong Radio code
Hi.
I just bought a 1999 S-type and the display is asking for the radio code. I have entered the code from the code card the seller gave me but it doesn't work. If i press 2 & 6 together to get the serial number, it is different to the one on the card, so he must have given me the card from another Jag.
I googled how to bypass the code and came up with the A.mem and pty trick, but i think that's for later S-types, as my car doesn't have an A.mem button.
Anybody got any idea how i can get the correct code or some way to bypass the code on my model?
Thanks

The radio head unit likely was replaced sometime in the past.
When I replaced radios at the dealer, I always included the new code card with the car in the glove cubby but customers are NOT always careful with info and paperwork.
I have called the dealer with my radio serial number and gotten the correct code in the past but due to Jaguar's recent dealer closures it might be a 'thing-of-the-past'?

Hello,
Since then I have always been able to get the right codes for radio codes from eBay - radio code providers. It takes work to get to the radio, but hardly any money. It has always worked perfectly since then.
Greetings, Willi
