Some scumbag has scratched the mirror cover on the Black car.

These need to come off for painting, and I know that there is a trick to it.

I read all the search I could muster, and Six Rotors has an excellent write up, photo's, but that is the X350/X202 mirrors, and mine are "apparently" different.

I know thet the X300 had a trick to locate the 2 tabs, I failed, and broke said tabs, and I dont really want to do that here.

Can they be removed without removing the glass???, If so, how please?? and if the glass MUST come out, is it the same as the later set up, slide the glass sideways towards the outer rim?.

My eyes are now crap for fine fiddly stuff, and arthritis is a mongrel, so any assist would be greatly appreciated.

A body shop is not touching this car again, oh boy, dont go there.

 

I think yours are a different shape to mine so maybe levering off as I did won't work but yes I just levered the back cover off. Left the glass as-is.

Scared myself as it feels like something's going to break. Don't know if I was just lucky.
