Default X202 V6 Manual Conversion

Hi All,

Just asking if anyone here has been involved in swapping out the ZF 6 spd auto box for a 5 spd manual on their S-Type?

My 6HP24 is working really rough, has had a filter/fluid refresh and software update but all to no avail. Looking at 3.5-4k for a rebuild. 192,000km (120k miles)

Wondering if a manual exchange would work out better? Obviously I need
-Gearbox (will likely have to sea freight from the UK)
-Master cylinder
-Shifter/linkage
-Pedal box

but what else might I need?

-software (new ecu?/standalone?)
-sensors?

Wondering if anyone can shed any light. Don't really want to spend 4 grand on a car that's worth 11 on a good day. Probably looking to sell otherwise. Thanks.

You mean 6HP26.

Almost impossible to do what you want without a suitable PCM and change all the other modules involved in security, which means not viable.

Be cheaper to swap to another 6HP26 and at least that will work - if you're blaming the right item! But first have you checked very carefully that the engine is 100% right using OBD? The autobox goes crazy if not.

You HAVE changed the battery, right? By far #1 suspect. After that, engine (cheap to check those OBD), and after that the loom behind front bumper.
