A few of you have messaged & emailed me about these. Good news is it appears that our local customer with a '15 V8 R will be dropping by on Friday, so we can have a poke around, see what the space constraints are and so on.
He's off on a Poker Run but we will probably see the car back in the shop not long after for development if it looks feasible.

That is fairly accurate. The 'development' in terms of designing and testing parts is not an enormous time frame, given that the packaging constraints on modern cars usually dictate a limited design envelope. You're not going to test 20 designs...
However, fabricating and manufacturing are two different things, so to create parts & jigs is one thing, but to then fit say, 50 parts into a manufacturing schedule, pattern all the component pieces etc. and assemble in a cost effective way, that's a different kettle of fish.
It always takes time, but as the saying goes, you can have it done fast, well, and cheap. Pick two.

Nothing wrong with that. Got to get it right the first time. The power increase should be sizable not to mention the sound improvement.
So, just looking at the V8, the passenger's side could accommodate a 4-1 design, but on the driver's side, the first runner is VERY close to a line. Think it was a PS line. When we have the car back, we will have to take a look and see if this is a flexible line that can be bend out of the way.
Even if it can, I don't believe that we would be able to run 1 7/8" primaries on that side in a 4-1 configuration. So it will most likely need to be a 4-2-1, 1 7/8" into 2" secondaries and then 2.5" collector, sport cat etc.
It's a challenge, but we can do it.
V6 may prove trickier still, but it might be possible to get 3 primaries out in relatively equal lengths compared to 4.

Without having all the cars here at one time it's not possible to engineer a magic bullet with 100% certainty. For the PS setup, we can certainly try to work around the location of the Electric PS.
For AWD models, we do have on hand reference downpipes which clear the AWD bracket but this clearance difference is actually on the back end of the downpipe. The downpipe section can be made to fit all if the flange location is in the right spot. The main clearance difference on the AWD is that the driver's side catalyst is actually oval rather than round, so again, if we build off this car by assuming that there is limited clearance in that spot we can probably engineer around it.
Now.... LHD/RHD I am not so sure about. But again, you can sort of eyeball the location of the steering column and rack attachment and pretend that it is there....
The question is not what can be done, but more so whether it can be done in the 10 day window we have with the car. And I'm sure no matter what we do, that there will be a couple of 'need to check one on X variant' and see before we get it all figured out.
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. So if we can engineer a solution such that there is 1 V6 Header, 1 V8 Header and 1 downpipe that mates up to both we can rationalize production enough to probably get a V8 Header + Sport Cat Downpipe into the $3500-4000 range. The more they can be made the same, the more economies of scale takes over.

I hadn't got as far as the firing order to see which cylinders would need to be paired with which, but it looks like it's the same as the 6.3L AMG V8. We just finished developing a set of headers for the SLS AMG Black Series. A lot more room with that car, but required some contortion to equalize the runner lengths perfectly:

You should hear it.
Has our 2.75" XPipe exhaust with 2 tiny silencers. When you downshift at higher RPM it doesn't even sound like an engine, just sounds like an explosion.
Just chatted to my friend. We were aiming to have the car in this week, he's had a tempting offer trading up on an SVR so a bit up in the air on timing. But should still get rolling soon.
