Default New member, but not a Jag owner

I've always wanted a V-12 Jag, but that will likely never happen, but I will be doing some work on a 2002 X-type for a young lady that grew up next to my wife and me. Her budget is tight and the car was cheap (yeah, I know there more expensive than a cheap luxury car) and seems to run well with only a few minor (or seemingly minor issues).

I'm a long-time muscle car owner with several major builds under my belt over the last 40 years. I currently own two old Mopars (1967 Barracuda and 1968 Dart GTS, both convertibles) and two "modern" vehicles (2000 Durango and 2004 BMW 330Ci convertible).

Welcome.

You MUST own at least ONE V12 in any lifetime, just do it.

The most fun you will ever have.

Welcome to the forum FresnoJim,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

I've had the bug for a long time, but V12 XKE roadsters don't just drop out of trees.

I was wandering around one of the local Fresno self-serve wrecking yards a couple of weeks ago and found an XJS V12 that still had its entire drive train. I asked my wife if she thought I was nuts for wanting to go back for the engine. She said I was. Then I asked her if she was surprised that I wanted it. Her answer was that she was NOT surprised...

To my way of thinking, that pretty much equals permission...

Yeah, my wife gets it. The GTS convertible is HERS. It was our first major purchase after we got married and was her daily driver when she was 21 (our sons are now in their 30s...).
