Default Series l Steering Wheel Removal?

I am trying to remove the steering wheel on my 63 E-Type, I removed the center horn button and the three set/grub screws on the steering wheel base. I thought the black center disc would then pop out. It did not and now spins freely. I don't want to pry it out for fear of breaking it. What am I missing?
Thanks - Kevin

It's been many years since I had a Series 1 car. There should be a lock (jam) nut followed by the main steering nut...Just remove them, and the wheel will come off the splines ....You will have to wiggle the wheel, as you pull.....

Thanks for the reply. I am stuck with trying to remove the plastic disc shown in the photo to get to the nuts you are referring to. I was able to remove one of the three grub screws from the back of the steering wheel base. I had to drill out the other two as I could not turn either of them with a small screw driver. After drilling the other two screws out, the black disc spins freely but will not pop out as I expected it would. Thanks - Kevin
