Default Wheel Removal 2002 X type

Has anyone found an easy way to remove the alloy wheels from the X type? I have had to use a block of wood and a sledge hammer to wack away at alternate sides of the wheel with the lugs loosened until the thing finally breaks loose. There has got to be a better way to do this.

Length of time is only part of the equation. The real problem is the chemical reaction between the alloy wheel and the steel wheel hub which causes a white powder to form inbetween the two surfaces. This powder hardens and does not allow the wheel to slide off, hence the whacking. I have tried spraying white grease on the surface of the hub prior to reinstallation but this didn't help at all. So the question still remains open.

Only thing I can think of is to use (unsure of name) but its a sorta copper grease that they sometimes use when refitting bolts etc and I believe is also heat resistant.
Ask racer or Buck, those two knowalls will be sure to know.......lol and no doubt you'll have your answer before you can say f*c***g wheels ARGHHHHHHHH

Hi,
That copper grease is called anti sieze compound! It's also a good idea to apply it to the studs before replacing the lug nuts.
