Default side sills finally installed.

I know a lot of you on the forum do not like the sills on the ftype but there has been a few showing interest in buying them with the same questions I had as to where you can buy and if they fit the car. Well I went ahead and purchased them from a local jaguar dealer took 2 days to arrive. Today I went to a local shop hoping they can fit them to the car and luckily it was no big deal. All they had to do was take the rockers off, align the sills to the rockers and drill the matching holes on the rockers. Put the rockers back on, and attach the sills. Took about 2 hours to complete the car. They already come painted gloss black and it's the 14-15 version. My personal opinion it makes a big difference on the car. Always felt like something was missing when I saw the car from the side. Hope this helps anyone who is on the same boat I was in.

As for part numbers:
T2R11991 and T2R11989

Looks great, and much better than without, IMO.

I also believe that the F is missing something when there are no side skirts.

Agreed!!!
It adds something in a stealth sort of way when the Black Sills are present, but still enhances the lean and mean shape of the F-Type through the mid-section when compared to an F-Type with color-coordinate side sills.

The 14-15 sills in black are certainly not as imposing on the lines as any of the other sill options. I may go that route just to provide some gravel protection for the rocker panels.

See how much you like em after it rains!

I've never had any part on any car get as dirty as these damn things!

I'm a HUGE fan of using OEM equipment to mod cars especially from their higher spec counterparts.

You sir, are doing it right.

I may go this route as mine are the 14 version and Polaris white. They get very dirty and at least if the were blacked out or CF they would hide some if it since your eyes get drawn to the white.

For me, bleahh. I love the original lines. No sill is best. This is the least objectionable add on. I too think it'll be nothing but a dirt collector. The only advantage may be it kept any rock debris off the rear fenders.

Well gotta burst that bubble, it doesn't reduce it much at all. I'm not sure they are doing anything but providing me with another place to keep clean.

Then I'll opt back out again.

I do prefer them without myself but those in black don't look bad at all and seems to go with your car really well.

I've kept mine on for that reason alone......and I can't see why they wouldn't protect the rockers/doors though perhaps not the forward flare of the rear fender (which I had wrapped).

I think the MY '16 AWD side skirts (which are much larger and the size of airplane wings!) do a better job--at least that's what I'm saying to convince myself not to remove them. I do wish they were black. And I would love it too if my white rear diffuser was black also

I personally love the sills in black. I have them on my 2014 V8S and I think they make the car look lower and wider. Your pics look terrific!

Kief, I would think that having the sills and diffuser painted black would run you a few hundred bucks at a local performance shop. I had my brake calipers changed from black to red and it was $700 for all of them. Well worth it because every time I walk up to the car I think "damn that looks cool!"

The original 14/15 black sills along with the black front(edge) splitters make the car IMO. Keeps the lines of the car slim, elegant with a bit of an edge. Biggest reason I don't like the MY16+. They messed with the sills by over designing them with extra creases and making them body colored which just fattens the F-Type.

This is one of the few cars where I think they nailed it the first time and now every tweak is just ruining it. The only negative is probably the bar across the front.

So nice improvement.

Have them wrapped. Shouldn't cost too much (matte black I think is best)
