BRG is my favorite paint color for these cars. I just started the restoration process too.. Fun stuff
Just an FYI, British Autowood can stain your steering wheel to match the darker wood in the rest of the car. I contacted them when I was looking at a '98, because having the steering wheel with a different color stain would have driven me crazy. Price was pretty fair too. They said it wouldn't be a perfect match, but it would certainly be much closer to the rest of the trim. You would just need to send in the wheel, and another piece of trim as a reference point for them.
I look forward to seeing more pictures of your progress

What's the background story on this car? I'm curious as to how or why it looks the way it does in the photos.
I too am in the process of renovating my XJ8 sport, I've got a thread on here about it.
Good Luck.

It's a Georgia car. Not enough wax applied between washes so the paint gets sunbeaten. It simply needs to be cut and polished and possibly some paint. PO had it parked for 5 months because he bought an X350. He simply lost interest. He has a lot of trees where he lives and everything off the trees seems to have fallen into the car LOL! I'll take a look see at your thread.
Same for the 4 drain hoses of the sliding roof (if you have a sliding roof, can't really see).
Will prevent you from a lot of water problems if one of those are stuck.
You're correct about the fuel filler door. When I saw the tree leavings in my engine bay and window mouldings, I went right for the filler door and what do you know? More bushes laying in there LOL! I'm going to wash her today to see what's the deal. The sunroof doesn't move. Either it's a fuse or stuck from lack of lubrication.
Nice cat! You may want to do a hard reset to restore the sunroof function.
