Although I had issues with the bracket I must say I had the best customer experience with getting the issue resolved. I just wish other companies we as easy to deal with as XJREngineer. Thanks again for all your help. I can't wait to get my new bracket.

I used mothers metal polish and sanding disks on a foam pad on my drill, started with 1000 grit,2000,3000,and ended with 5000.lots of work, but worth it, since it is unsealed,i have to touch-up every two months

My next project is to make my own poly bushings from molds for both sway bars and drop links, and drop link eyes

I fitted uprated front sway bar bushes, but I have an alternative suggestion to uprating the bushes in the drop links, as we have already discussed off-line. I replaced the standard Jaguar drop links with ones of my own design. These use high spec spherical bearing rod ends joined with a turnbuckle. The rod ends are enclosed in rubber boots. I use conical misalignment washers to allow the spherical bearings to fully articulate. The combination of the rod ends that I selected and the misalignment washers very closely match the width of the standard drop link ends, so the standard bolts can still be used. I don't find that the use of spherical bearings has any negative effect on ride quality. However, it significantly increases roll stiffness of the car by eliminating all the compliance present in the bushes in the standard Jaguar drop links. I would thoroughly recommend this modification if you want to improve the handling of your car.

hi, i'm hoping to get one of these but i'd like to ask if it's possibly to use less metal and make it lighter?

the main body of the bracket, around the bolt holes, have a sharp corner, could they not be rounded off? what about the metal inbetween the two bolt holes, could we narrow that and introduce a waistline?

i appreciate this is a very insignificant point but i think we could shave off some metal here! (obviously we cannot weaken it).

My bracket weighs 60g and a standard bracket weighs 30g. My brackets are machined from a solid block of aluminium. I needed to create the shape with the minimum number of surfaces in order to minimise the machining time. I could design a bracket that looked more like the shape of the die-cast standard part, but it would cost very much more to machine each one. I don't think anyone would consider it a good weight / cost trade-off.

If anyone wants to buy one I have a 'andy' bracket EBC1253, sold my xj6 and didn't need it anymore - at cost same as I paid minus shipping from the UK.

Dear All,
I just collected from the machine shop the new batches of revised crank sensor brackets for replacing both the EBC1253 and EBC5017 designs. These brackets are for early AJ6 (post 3.6L engine number 108834) and late AJ6/all AJ16 respectively. The changeover on bracket design occurred on late 3.2L/4.0L AJ6 engines at engine number 161586. The last batch of brackets had almost all gone, but I collected another batch from the machine shop today.

I purchased one this yr fitted it and now reading this post mine was a very very tight fit I cleaned up sensor and greased and got it in just! Cars Is in body shop now so haven't got acsess to car at the moment

Oh my God. .. What a fantastic engine response after installing this. It took 10 minutes. And I'm no mechanic. Feels a lot quicker and I am quite sure it actually is.. thanks!😊

another thumbs up for the bracket.....my car has had one fitted from when I bought it so it was never easy for me to say how different it was from another car that didn't have one....until last weekend when I had the chance to drive another manual XJR6 that wasn't fitted with one...and I can certainly say my car felt a tad quicker through the gears ....its a must have for the AJ16

PS to Andy......can you still re map auto ECUs for manual configuration.....please PM me

I found a straight flat empty piece of road so I had to give it a test. 1 attempt only and I have a small exhaust leak so there is room for improvement.
Very pleased with engine response etc.
1995 , 4.0 sovereign
