Default Show me your rims

I will put Lola (my 98 XK8 convertible) away for the winter in a week or two and while she is hibernating I will obsess over new rims for her for 2017. She presently sports the factory originals but I'd like to get some new sportier looking rims for the spring. You know....to surprise her !!

Problem is I have no idea what would look best on her so I am asking if you will please show me your rims !!

Post a pic and if possible the name of the rim you have. Would greatly appreciate seeing how different rims look on these beautiful cars !

You might want to start with the sticky, and see if there is anything you like. I am sure some of us can identify some of the wheels by sight and tell you names to help you make further research.

Altogether, there are 2 options:

One is to go with a set of factory wheels. All wheels for the X100/X103 (1997 to 2006) should fit, and there were quite a few different models over the years. Factory look, factory fit. Bolt on and drive off. Some folks update their wheel to something bigger and better, or wheels just turn up after a crash. This is sometimes fairly economical to go this way, especially if you are not after the later/larger/special series wheels. The main problem is that it is a low supply/low demand type of affair, so the best is to set your mind on a short list of acceptable wheels (as opposed to just one) and wait for something to turn up. Expect this to be a hunt of some kind, so patience is your friend. This is a path where you are getting used wheels, so depending on your tolerance, they might need some refinishing, which can significantly add up.

The other option is to go with an after market supplier. I have no experience with that, but folks have done wire wheels (Dayton?), or even adapted some BMW wheels to the Jaguar hub. Otherwise, I believe there is at least one manufacturer (Coventry) that makes ready made wheels for this car. Expect more $, though.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

I replaced my 17" factory Lamina rims with 18" Coventry Whitley's - before and after pics shown. I got rims with tires mounted through forum sponsor carid

Thanks Steve. I have been looking at the Coventry Whitley in Gloss black. Any issues going to 18" or straight drop in?

They look great. Can really see in your before and after the difference they make. Did you go 18 all the way around or staggered?

So I have no idea what these ones are. Came with the car when I got it earlier this year. But I absolutely love them and they're a big part of why I bought this particular car. If anyone can tell me where they're from I would be very interested to know!

I like the 9X20" Front, and 10X20" Rear, Factory 'Detroit' wheels that came on my car when I bought it. Although the Trim Rings are in need of some attention, I like the look of the wheels as they remind me of the Iconic 1964 'Cragar S/S' wheel. A quote from the Cragar Website: "1964 The S/S Wheel is Born, Roy Richter created the ultra strong, ultra cool, Cragar S/S Wheel, a unique custom wheel that presented major advances in the automotive industry". Please ignore the God awful, mismatched, worn-out, unknown manufacturer tires on the car as the original tires were probably swapped over to an employees car. There were seriously four different tire brands mounted to the car when I picked it up in Seattle.

Legog, those appear to be Gemini wheels. Pretty rare.

Here are my TSW rims, 9" on front, 10" on back 19" I picked to balance profile to ride comfort. These were 'almost' a direct fit, I use a 3mm adapter ring that looks like a rubber band only. I have no problems with clearance even lowered 1" these rims are extremely light weight see their site for details
(please excuse car being so dirty photo was take after working on it and driving in rain ;-)

Beautiful car White Bear. And again the Whitleys are looking sharp. Does anyone have the gloss black version by chance? I think they would look good on the black convertible with a black mesh grill cover.

Have always liked the factory wheels, just had them powder coated in metallic silver.
