Nice upgrade. I also went from a pre-facelift to a SC 13.
I can't answer your question but if I had to guess it has different rims than the Draco and a seat time upgrade (like colored stitching).
My non-portfolio 13 5.0SC came with the updated stereo, Sport seats 17 way driver/14 way pass (all black), rear power shade, blind spot monitor, heated wheel/front windshield.
the seat specs are different as far as adjustment variations. it does have the nice stitched piping on the seats, and the rear power shade, blind spot, heat/cooled seats and heated steering wheel.... but it comes with 18' wheels which is think is weird for a portfolio package.
I have driven plenty of the loaner v6SC cars (and T4s) when I was fighting a noisy seat in my car. They are very close in performance from the n/a v8s of old. And much more tuner gains.
You may be able to get creative with the TCP kit and make parts of it to work. I built my own setup from scratch and that kit will be a good starting point.
Thats exactly why I went with the V6 S/C instead of the 5.0L
I think the torque gains and tuning options will make it a much more 'fun' car to have. I just couldn't do much of anything else to the N/A V8.
Now I will have a reason to get back on the forums !!!! lol
I don't understand why you would think the 3 liter 6 cylinder could match torque with the 5 liter 8 cylinder. The V-8 spec is 380 lb.-ft. compared to the V-6 at either 332 or 339, depending on variant. That is a substantial difference that no tuner can make up outside the world of false promises. Note that hotter tuning of the SC V-6 produces a gain of 40 hp in the upgraded engine, but only 7 more lb.-ft. of torque. Further aftermarket tuning will undoubtedly get you near or over 400 in hp, but still almost certainly below 345 in torque, which is still roughly 10% less than the NA V-8.
I think it's more along the lines that the options for N/A engines are more limited than their super/turbo charged cousins. Same happened over in the Audi camp when the 4.2L V8 transitioned to the ubiquitous SC V6 3.0L everybody seems to be using as a V8 stand in.
Yes...I did everything that can be done to a N/A V8 short of messing with major engine work. I just think that with the available tunes and pulley upgrades I will be able to have a more customized car and get better enjoyment...I love my V8, but I also know that it is getting up there in miles and in age, so it's time to let it go. I can;t really say that I would be able to utilize all of the power from a newer S/C V8 even though those cars carry more prestige and give power bragging rights to their owners. My goals for this car are:
1. having a 'custom' aspect to it.
2. Being able to keep pace or outpull a IS350 or a C Class or a 335i.
3. The fact that it is NOT one of those cars is pretty cool.
4. I can take the leggy blond to the opera and scare people in the parking garage
with a freakish sound!!!
5. Have something newer to drive.
I hope to eventually move into a new XFR, but I can't take the new car depreciation hit right now and jumping into a new car every four years won't accomplish anything towards getting into that XFR
Yes it is. Heart signed the papers whilst head was looking the other way...took a hit on the XFR considering what I had invested in her recently (new tires, brakes, rotors etc) but sometimes you have to just say WTF...
MY guess, is that a tuned S/C v8 would blow away a tuned S/c v6....... just my guess. ive looked at the zero to 60 times un tuned between to v6 and v8 and they are not even in the same ball park im sure a more knowledgeable member will chime in but if i had a NA v8 and wanted something faster a S/C v6 i dont think is gonna do it imo
My tuned and pulleyed 5.0 V8 XFR was putting out 500WHP so the F-Type is probably slower but I've never had a coupe before and wanted to ditch the sensible rear seats ;-)
I went from a tuned XFR (XKR-S tune plus a few other tweaks) to a V6S F-Type, and yes the XFR is quicker and faster. But not much quicker 0-60, traction and wheelspin are still a problem. It's the mid-range and throttle response where the XFR kills the V6 F-type, at anything over 60 mph the XFR walks away from it and the instant "shove in the back" is much stronger.

I've got the VelocityAP tune on the way though...
same motor in the F, but i was referring to the op thats going from a NA v8 XF to a S/C v6 XF and i agree on the tuned v8 XF fastest car ive ever had.... thats not saying too much i know....but its pretty fast
