In the vid, the guy says it doesn't have a dual clutch. I thought it did?

The ZF 8 speed is a conventional auto 'box. He said it shifts just as quick as a dual clutch, even though it's not a dual clutch.
Maybe he was exaggerating a tad, but there is no denying it's a very good 'box, especially the "quickshift" version as fitted to the F-Type.

With the car off, pushing the volume button turns on the stereo without turning on the rest of the electronics.

All of it's worth watching though. I guess many here have seen it already.
Confirmed today that my 2017 V6S AWD does not do this. Someone else try? Maybe mine is broken.

On the '16 V6S it only works if you have the key fob with you.

Hmm, my old Benz does that, thought I had tried it, will have to try again.

Uh-oh... Still haven't tried it on mine yet.

And here is something that I just learned today from this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...153046/page11/
"The temperature gauge in the dash is programmed to stay in the middle until the coolant temperature is high. In the older cars they sit in the middle from something like 84°C to 118°C, I expect similar in the F-Type, it only goes up once you are already too hot and doesn't give you much warning if something is wrong. "
Oh that's just great... I noticed that it goes up to operating temp rather quickly, that may explain why..

does anyone else have these on the rear windows?

looks to me like something the factory stuck on to align the door edge and/or trim mouldings and forgot to remove

^ I've also thought those were rather vestigial. In fact I'm going to pull them off next time I wash the car.

Do people routinely drive away without their keys?

I typically keep my fob in my briefcase which I toss in the trunk. If it allows me to start the car, I would think it would allow dynamic launch?

??? I thought we were talking about the radio button working without the ignition being turned on.

I found one after 3 months. Not sure why I hadn't noticed it. I thought someone had vandalized the car as it was sticky. I removed it from passenger side.

Default Trip Computer

I didn't know that the Trip Computer readout in the Message Center (bottom right between speedo and tach) can be toggled between the various readouts by pushing the button on the end of the turn signal lever (conveniently named the Trip Button ;-)). Your options are:
1. Trip Distance
2. Trip Average Speed
3. Trip Average Fuel Consumption
4. Instantaneous Fuel Consumption
5. Range (the one I want)
6. Blank
7. Date

Number 4 is fun though. Full throttle on the V8 and it sometimes says 2mpg.

And if you read the manual, you find you can switch between manual and auto trips - I have mine set to auto, so the stats reset every time I start the car.

I would recommend not looking at the instrument panel while at full throttle.
