Switched out the auxiliary water pump yesterday, on St Patty's day. Ran the car long enough to bring the temperature about half way up to the normal operating temperature. Was rewarded with a better supply of heat than before, with heat increasing steadily as the temp went up.Turned the motor off, went into the house, then back out today, withno leaks on the floor, or under the hood, should have plenty of heat now.
Took my 2004 VDP and my 2004 S Type out of winter hibernation yesterday. Both cars started with first turn of the key, drove them( yes one at a time) to the local emission test facility. Both passed. Then I renewed both licence stickers for another year!
Put everything back together.. and Shocks wont' refill.. Compressor silent..
She's down to the bumps.. Did I miss a step ? TWO THINGS I may have screwed up on / forgot.. I did not disconnect the battery prior... And I later found I had left the key IN the ignition during the job. ( massive head cold - brain fog) ANY IDEAS how to get my Air system jump started ?? Much appreciated.. Have to get this back on the road for the work week! GEO G PS. Its a 2005 Vanden P.
Sorry, no help from the guy new yet to this game of cat & mouse. Am very interested though, in how to solve any issues such as this, and any others. So as to stay away from the Jaguar dealer, and their PARTS BOUTIQUE. Good god; Did not know exactly what to think of such a name for the parts dept.Good luck with your search

This probably isn't the best thread for this question to get noticed. You may receive more help if you post a new question. Before I put on new front shocks, my car would be on the stops also when I lifted it. I never undid my battery connections when I lifted the car. Drive slowly forward for about 20 feet and see if the car lifts. My car raised every time I drove forward.
Fine weather today, our first of 2017 here in good 'ole England ! Temperature up to about 15C as well, so I decided to tackle a little bit of filiform corrosion on the car, ( aka the "Creeping Lurgy). Like all paintwork jobs it does take a fair time what with having to wait until paint dries and so on, so here's what I completed.
1. Using a small craft knife, I carefully scraped all the bubbled paint and white corrosion products away to leave shiny bare aluminum.
2.brush painted in some zinc-rich primer (several coats)
3.Wiped the crater over with acrylic stopper
When this stopper is all nice and cured, then I will flat off, prime and paint with an aerosol. I last did this on the previous car and my repairs did last. I did, however have some difficulty matching the paint. I hope this time the paint will match well, as one of the repairs is on the bonnet (US=hood) where a stone hit it. No dent, fortunately.
Not a lot really, she was washed / cleaned and shined up ready good to go late Friday afternoon, looking good
Went out for a wee drive today and just enjoyed her out on the open road, visited a friend of mine and spent a few hours catching up
Looking to have the wheels off sometime soon in the next month of two just to clean right through properly, and probably redo the hubs and calipers. I have a high temp clear coat I intend to use this time on them too.
I may try out the detailing DA I bought some time ago and get the paint tidied up some, topping off with PB Blackhole then some Chemical guys BLACK Wax
A quick going over of the interior wth some leather cleaner and conditioner and she should be good to go for the rest of the year
Just had both my original cats replaced with Magnaflow 200 cell cats, I had a P420 code. So, needed one replaced anyway.
Both middle resonator/muffler delete and installed Magnaflow Tru-X pipe.
The sound out the exhaust is so much louder, not really the greatest sound though. At 1200-1400 rpm there's a deeper slight drone, inbetween 2000-2400 rpm it sounds like a kazoo when accelerating. In the car driving it sounds really tinny. However, when I stood outside and got the gf to rev it for me, the exhaust sounded awesome, it was mean, barking loud & had a super car growl . I'll need to find someone who can do a few drive bys, so I can really hear the full exhaust sound.
I messed my baby all up by doing a hard reset... now the poor girl wont run right... this is a bad day...
When unhooking the battery or doing a hard reset, the car will normally run like crap for a minute or two while relearning. Just be patient, and let it run. It should smooth right out.
The first time I experienced this, I nearly soiled my pants.
Both damaged under trays replaced, the torn driver's door seal replaced, a new key cut, a new battery in the old key, both keys reprogrammed, fluid top offs, a full detail and back home safely before the rain came. The big jobs are all done, and I'm now getting close to the end of the small jobs. She's starting to get back to where she should have been if the PO had been a bit more careful, or done just that little bit more regular maintenance. Got a free bonus of a nice drive home down the old road as there was a car fire on I65S. Listened to the Floyd on the way - Wish You Were Here - "love to drive in a Jaguar"...
Upper a arms both sides, tie rod ends, stabilizer bar links, with Arnott AS2888 front air shocks. Rides smooth, steering is nice & tight, handles much better.
Came home after work and noticed that the brown feary had dropped off my new Voxx Lago 20" wheels and all season tires. Love the look versus the stock wheels.

Installed 6000k D1S bulbs 35w, 6000k LED city light bulbs and 60w LED fog bulbs that claim to be 6000 lumens (would guess they are closer to 4000 lumens, but still incredibly bright)
Am very interested though, in how to solve any issues such as this, and any others.
