I'm jealous. I went with midgrade pads (just went and did it, took about 20 mins). I'll upgrade to better pads and rotors once these are worn. Still need a few other things taken care of first.

Luckily not. I was told a forklift reversed into it... But it actually was a brand new sprinter from the workshop where I am repairing my car. The Sprinter looks worse though! Or was it a Crafter? Anyhow, a big big white van.

Both brackets are cracked off.
Bumper cracked.
Both bumper slide brackets smashed.
Both front sidemarkers smashed.
Wing stoved in.

Probably a write off...

Took her out of hibernation, changed oil and filters, cleaned her up, and now she looks like a prom queen.
The engine does have a small oil leak somewhere which I have to locate and fix.

Sorry to hear as well Daim, from what you're saying and the picture it looks like the worst of it is primarily those bumper shock mounts, then the wing - depending how they tore out, it might be possible to weld on new nuts for them if the chassis metal isn't tweaked. Mine had some shoddy work done to the front end in the past and the pass side bumper slider is misaligned, as well as the bumper shock. One of the bumper shock mounting nuts is missing, and the shock is blown out, but if I put a good bumper shock on there, the bumper sticks out further than the driver's side....

I drove mine on my 50mi round trip commute for the first time this week. Twice. Well, not the first time driving it, but the first time making it all the way without being stranded by my pulley. Filled the tank to the brim for the first time and nothing went haywire. On the section of highway-only 10 miles or so from the gas station to my house, got 17.6mpg avg(!!!) which is a record so far, and that's with a wonky alignment. Also got caught out in a heavy thunderstorm, one wiper struggled to do the job but the car didn't miss a beat.

Most importantly, in all that driving, nothing new broke. Crank pulley hasn't slipped a hair, yet. Still means I have to pull front subframe, do half the bushings and ball joints in there, buy/make tools for that job, figure out my vibrations during/after front end work, get an alignment again, maybe bearings, rear suspension foam bits, figure out fuel pump noise, maybe PS pump, trans fluid/filter, retrace charging system wiring, and whatever else I'm forgetting right now. Almost there!!!

Just dropped her off @ the paint shop, my paint experiment/travesty will be but a faint memory lol.

Now I will notice every imperfection on the sides lol. I may just call him & have everything done.

I thought the same thing since I only had repainted the problem areas. The original paint areas do have minor imperfections but they are that, minor. Give her a good wax and you won't even notice them unless you know exactly where to look, trust me . I know the feeling you are having right now, the wait to get your Jag back is going to seem to take forever, but wait until you see the after effect!

Four wheel alignment. Front had toe-out but now with toe-in XJR drives very, very well.

Just made a list of all parts required to get my XJ8 back into a roadworthy condition for the insurance... Ouch! About €3.200 worth of parts WITHOUT labour and painting! Simply just parts. I doubt my car is worth that (my gas system is though! ).

So, time for some patience...

Nothing yet, but will bring the Grand Lady out to pick up the younger lady from the airport.

You noticed we are almost hitting 100 pages here?
Our achievements during the first 100?
Well, guess a whole lot more than someone else .

Maintenance today on 98XJ8. On my to do list was to check to see if tensioners have been replaced. No they weren't done. Replaced the secondaries.
Been having a vibration between 50 and 70 mph. Put car on lift and notice a wobble in left rear. I'm not to knowledgeable about the suspension on these cars. Will start new thread to get some ideas.
