It has rear DRLs (as well as the "J-Blade" front DRLs), never knew that until I checked yesterday!

 

@rav1up: my 16 r has swivel headlamps that move 15 degrees, if I recall correctly.

 

Mine has this also, think it's part of adaptive lighting, at lower speeds lighrs move in direction of steering, very useful, but surpring the first time you notice.

 

But you can leave the CD in between trips and it will eventually record the whole CD.

 

What is the procedure if you only want to record certain cuts off of a number of c.d.'s..?

I don't think this can be done on the Jag system, uploading the content of a CD to the hard drive is "all or nuffin".
A much better way would be to rip the CD tracks to mp3 on your 'puter, then load whatever tracks you want to a USB stick and use that stick in the F-Type.
Plenty of free to download CD ripping programs out there.

 

Make a playlist on your computer, burn it on a CD, load in car.

 

This is funny. Moving past cassettes and CDs meant not having to abide the 80 minute rule. I've plenty of old mixes that last 1h19m38sec, but now I've 2.5 hour afrobeat or italian lounge mixes.... and I never thought, in my entire life, I would ever need to involve myself in time restrictions ever again! LOL

But this is a stellar idea. I like it. That's about 13.333 hours of a solid jukebox. =)

I'm a big fan. I prolly mentioned I DJ at some point in the past. He died Aug 2nd, birthday was Oct 15th. So I hold a 6 week "FELABRATION" each year where I lazily play REALLY long afrobeat tracks to fill up sets, and basically just play track after track of Fela while filling in with other fun rarities.

The below is my streaming profile, with bossa nova, italian lounge, rare groove jazz, mellow hip hop, minimal house and something very every taste. The Italian Lounge and Afrobeat are approx 2.5hrs and great for long drives.

I learned that this car's chassis doesn't need a racing suspension and is way lower than I ever would have gauged. What else I learned is that Jag planned for this, and there's a thin titanium shield that seems to do a hell of a job of protecting the car.

 

Maybe already mentioned, but on a LH drive car the rear view mirror significantly obscures vision on right hand turns without bobbing and weaving your head - especially when searching for the apex or exit point (turn in can be tough on unfamiliar turns). Applies to sweepers and tighter radius and really acrobatic on a quick chicane set up. How do the track guys deal with it? Remove the mirror?

 

One other thing - the analog speedo on the left side of the dash is visually off from the drivers perspective depending where in the arc the needle happens to be pointing. Digital is ok if you like that sort of thing, but it seems they should have a more traditional analog tach left / speedo right orientation. Probably should of noticed that on the test drive, but even if I had I'd have bought it anyway.

 

Tangentially related to this thread:

I'm not saying it's nearly as much fun or polite - and it certainly stands to reason - but I noticed that driving without 11 F-Types following me (never mind fielding and/or making phone calls or the very occasional text) my driving is considerably faster and/or aggressive (but never hostile). I already knew this but driving every day this week after our splendid 2017 Lobster Run - including flying onto and off of on/off ramps - simply reminded me how wonderful it is to push the limits of our automobiles (not that I'm pushing at or to the limit. Simply towards it.)

Would note, being 4th ...or 7 th ....or 2nd behind the leader of the conga line was similarly stimulating.

I would venture to guess that wherever one was on said conga line it was a sight to behold and a thing of beauty! Sights yes, sounds? Well, that all depends on where one was relative to...oh...you know.

Being the 12th car often was great. What a view we had and I could always drop back a bit from time to time and say "oh crap I've gotta catch up".

 

Being second in line once was also breathtaking.

 

That in the US the rear fog lights are red when illuminated at speed.

 

How do you get out to check them, skate board with a long rope?
