So that's why they're bullet proof!?

If you forget to put a few extra pounds in the tyres and drive faster than 250 km/h then a warning comes up on the dash telling you that your tyre pressures are too low for sustained high speed driving.

Similarly, there's a 12V pump in the toolkit, found this out after I had already bought one.

That was AWESOME ! And yes I am Jealous...not envious. Been on my bucket list for quite some time and is planned to take a day when vacationing in several countries in Europe to rent a Jag and drive the Bahn. Was very glad to see the video, cam was positioned well, and the speedo...nice job! Gives a good perspective of driving on it. Car sounded great too!
As far as the tire pressure having to be raised is new to me...I thought lower pressure...duh me. And the passing lane I thought was and understanding on the Bahn that other drivers always look in their mirror to let you go,go, goooo.
Just what I needed to overtake my coffee in the am.
Thanks for sharing.

But, hey if you want to sit in your F-Type and watch a movie in your driveway with the car in park you can, although I don't know if the switch to disable it is connected to the engine running or having the car in gear. If not, you'll run the battery down pretty fast.
i found a way to bypass this in my XJ once. The car was in dvd mode and I put the car in reverse and the dvd couldn’t engage until I put it in drive again and woops I could see it on the screen as I drove.

However, having Casino Royale in the player is lovely for when I am just happily cozy in my car while wifey runs an errand or two. =)

You can drop your rear spoiler by placing the gear into Neutral, and when you put it back into Drive, as long as you're under 70 MPH, it will remain down. Over 70 and it goes right back up.

I discovered how magnetic the car is. After I got it home, I kept returning to the garage just to look at it or sit in it. I even considered putting a sleeper couch in the garage just to keep an eye on it. My wife threatened to change the door lock code and alarm code if I did. Decisions...decisions

And they say aluminum isn't magnetic.

So what'd you discover?
The manual spoiler button works when you're driving too. Just as long as you're below 40mph. the spoiler goes up automatically at 60 and back down at 40. That's why when you raise it up at +40mph the spoiler wont lower back down until you drop below 40mph again.

Those speeds are different for the coupe, and I think the overall behavior depends on the market where the car was delivered.

Default Windows down driving

One of the few modern cars that can be comfortably driven with the windows all the way down. Just about everything I've owned for the past 20 years has been like driving in a hurricane, but the F Type Coupe is totally fine.

Love driving mine with the windows down. I wonder what the experience would be like if the quarter windows (?) opened in some manner.
One other thing I've discovered is that the auditory experience is enhanced by removing the cargo area cover--I've plugged my exhaust valves so they're open all the time and I never tire of the crackles and pops on deceleration.

I pulled the rear quarter windows out of my XKR when they were being tinted and the exhaust sound increased enormously. It's a huge shame that they dont go down. In the F Type you are sitting further back and closer to the exhaust to start with so the difference wouldnt be as huge, but I did notice a big difference between the centre exhaust and the quad (aside from the quad being massively louder anyway), because the quad tips are closer to your ear.

I think he's taking about a silver 1" square "plug" type piece of metal. Definitely looked like some access port. I only know since I just put on new plates.

This all depends on year, market (e.g. NA vs EUR), and body style (Coupe vs Vert).ON the 2016 NA Coupe, the button will only work at a standstill.

I only drive with the windows down, temperature doesn’t matter and I have other stuff to drive if it rains, any VW fans will remember the old VW “Fast” commercials - “My fast likes the windows down....down...down!

the “takeout” commercial is also awesome and applicable to the cat.

Things I learned about my car?

When it says ‘50 miles to empty’, that’s roughly 2 miles of driving and 48 miles of pushing. (My fuel gauge is clearly defective or miscalibrated, ran out of gas at ‘48 miles to empty.’)

It’s possible (though not easy) to get 2 stand golf bags in the trunk of the convertible (woods go in the passenger footwell.)

50 degrees is roughly my lower limit for having the top down. 88-90 degrees is the upper limit, depending on sun, etc.

Vacuuming the carpet in the roof storage area is a PITA.

Easy to see when the roof needs reproofing - it stops beading water. Best to do it in warm weather, as the fabric soaks it up when warm. (Yeah, I’m due, now that it’s getting cooler.)

Surprisingly, the right-side headlamp was much easier to change in the F-type than it was in my Mercury Milan (aka Ford Fusion.) Though the manual I referenced had the wrong bulb type...

After 7.5 years and 65k+ miles, we’re still in love!
