Next winter I might change that setting to Auto.
If you set it to Auto now it'll have the same effect as Always Open!

" Resting heart rate of a live jaguar" Well, it'd hardly be the resting heart rate of a dead one!

It does lock when you lock the car.

Locking the door by pushing the handle. I knew you could unlock it with the button, but this saves you the hassle of digging the remote out of your pocket.

And push it twice in quick succession to double lock. If your market supports it, of course.

Double locking does not appear to apply to MY16.

Does this mean the driver's side handle and passenger handle simultaneous versus just driver side?

Also, that tip is fantastic if people really don't know it. For some damned reason I got a key fob to enclose my key fob in a little leather zipper pocket so now be hitting any button is just annoying. It's nice to engineer in frustration in daily life.

No, that's two-stage unlocking. Double locking deadlocks the car and sets more alarms than single locking. Single locking is useful on ferries as only the perimetric alarm is set so you can leaves pets (or kids) inside the locked vehicle and the doors can be unlocked and opened from the inside. When double locked nothing can be opened from inside or out and also activates the full alarm system.

No.
When double locked the doors can’t be opened from the inside. So if a window is broken the lowlife can’t open the door.

How can you tell if double depressing the fob button double locks the car?

On mine I get no alarm chirp for single locking and a single chirp when double locked. Not sure how else you can tell, apart maybe from leaving a window open and seeing if the alarm sounds when you wave an arm through it!

I turned the locking chirps off years ago (it's in Settings) coz SWMBO couldn't stand the noise.
When I double lock mine the mirrors start to fold on the first press of the door handle, then on the second press they stop for about half a second and then get going again. That is how I tell if the double locking has been successful, if the mirrors fold all they way with no pause it hasn't worked.

The interior accent lighting is weak. My old mustang could blend like 250 colors. All you have is red blue and white with the jag.

It’s never been clear to me if we have ‘double locking’ in the US. May have to try it again, as I’m currently in the company of 11 other F-types.
