Default CATS suspension with non-CATS rear shocks?

My 2002 XJR has CATS suspension and everything up front is new (shocks, mounts, all control arm bushings and ball joints, sway bar links and bushings) and now I'd like to replace the rear shocks.

The Bilstein number I get for the rear is 24-023733, which is NOT electric. I can't see the shock on the car to determine if there are wires coming out of it, but I don't want to remove the shock until I have the replacements on hand.

Should I feel confident that the part number above is correct? Do I have CATS front shocks and regular rears? Anybody have any advice/feedback?

Do you have the 'Comfort' or 'Sport' suspension?

Rear damper with Comfort suspension has JLR part number MNC3540AA; Sport suspension has part number MNC3540CA.

Sport (green shocks)

So that Jaguar part number (MNC3540CA) cross references to the same Bilstein number I listed above. I guess that confirms it.

Thanks.

To me, but not based on experience on this matter, that sounds extremely strange (even for Jaguar ).

@ Jeff, it sounds like the rears where replaced at some point with the cheaper non cats sports shocks.
All cats equipped cars have 4 wired dampers, you'll find the link leads for the rears under the rear seat cushion, they feed through the floor to the upper wheel wells.

Hi Sean,

I haven't confirmed what's currently on the car because I can't see the tops of the shocks. I even tried snaking an inspection camera up there, no luck. Every website I visit, even several dealer parts sites, list the not CATS for the rear of my car. That's doing the search using my VIN number.

I also found a VIN detail site that listed all the specs for my car and it said CATS front shocks and "standard" rear shocks. That was a Ford/Jaguar site.

I am pretty confident they are original. The guy I bought the car from bought it at 36,000 miles and he had a book of receipts (that included the first owners receipts) and none listed shock replacement. I replaced the fronts myself.

It's not that big of a deal, the car rides nice. I think there's a "noise" on harsher bumps that makes me want to go ahead and replace them for good measure. I guess I'll have to remove them first to verify and then order replacements.

no way than your car came with CATS only on the front.
