And the ELM Bluetooth adapter. Am I the only one who can't read coolant temp? It always shows"no data". Also, my 02 XJ Sport started running rough/misfiring randomly at stop lights. So I was checking to see if any codes were set. There is a p1111, but I researched that and it nothing to be worried about.

My Torque Pro reads coolant temps no problem, you can try uninstalling & re-installing the app see if that helps. Also don't leave the BT adapter in 24/7 if you have been, remove it when you reinstall Torque.

To echo, I use it as well and have zero issues reading coolant temp. I don't remember what brand adapter I have, got it on Amazon years ago. But I do leave it in full time unless I need to check another car or something. The only hiccups I ever have is every so often, it stops responding to connect to the phone, but restarting my phone clears it instantly. Almost like clearing the cache or something, and pretty sure it's a phone issue, not an app/adapter problem.

I installed TorquePro for the first time yesterday and it worked fine. Using a cheapo eBay bluetooth adapter.

They can get reception issues & stall from static energy I've found. I used to leave mine in constantly but one time upon dragging my feet across the carpet I reached down to unplug the adapter, I got the common static pop @ my fingertips. Afterwards the Torque app gave me erratic/missing readouts but cleared after a reset. I was just throwing that out there.

So maybe you just stumbled on a problem?
Those sensors do break down, then the ECU sets a fixed temp (I believe 66C) to allow the car to run.
Something to check!

Possibly! A screenshot of the no coolant data.
For what it's worth, the car displays coolant temp fine from the instrument cluster. But will get to it tomorrow.

That's insane! A tip for anyone who is new to it.

1st: Make sure you don't have the torque app running. It won't connect to obd2 adapter if so.

2nd: Turn your phone's bluetooth on

3rd: Connect the obd2 adapter to obd2 port

4th: put key in ON position only

5th: Go to bluetooth settings on your phone, and pair them.

6th: Go to app, and you should be set

7th: start the car and explore.

As I said, will update you guys once I am able to read coolant data.

I think a lot of it is just hit or miss though. For example, if I get out of the car, and go into the store our house or something, and leave Torque running on my phone, it'll reconnect just fine when I come back out and start the car back up. Also, on my V20 for example, the app will auto-enable BT on the phone to connect even if I don't do it manually. I think some phones and adapters are just going to have a preferred order of steps to be most reliable for connection wise. So when you find a way that works, stick to it!

I use Torque Pro without any hick-ups. It is a great tool to find an air leak (read STFT for both banks) which is where I would start for running rough

Yes, I would imagine if goes lean, there is an air leaks or o2 stuck in a lean position.

Which would show in LTFTs / STFTs.

I'm messing with it now. Car has been running since then. Still no coolant data. I deleted the app and re installed it. No change.

Fuel trims look good to me, but no rough running at the moment. Weird that everyone else works, except coolant temp.

Just finished giving the cat a good interior and exterior clean as well. Wax is beading up the water quite nicely.

I wish they'd make it work instead of glitzy.

I presume you know that there are 2 banks on your car, and that Torque can read and display both of them?
If you set them up next to each other, you can check if things are balanced.

The most important are STFT1 + 2, and LTFT1 +2.
The other fuel trim readings are further down stream, after the cat.

Yes I know there are two banks. I understand my Corvette's obd1 system very well. Learning this one slowly. Yes I know it displays both.

JagV8, agreed. I like it and it(except for no coolant reading) does get the job done. However the obd1 datalogger I use for my vette updates faster.

I remember someone on here telling me, "you don't get a coolant reading because it's in the car's computer."- or something like that. I guess he was right. My dad wanted me to scan his daily 03 E320, and it read coolant temp no problem.
