Has anyone done it? I' looking to add more power and I already have the pulley. I'm looking for a shop to do the work but can't find any just yet. Starting to wonder if the dealer can do it lol. For those of you who have done it, what was the power increase like? Seem worth it? Any instructions or advise?
To get the full power upgrade for the pulley you need an ECU remap and that means mailing your ECU out (and given the ECU and car have to be matched having a spare ECU in the meantime doesn't really work-I have a spare ECU someplace). So you basically have a non-driving car until it comes back. Without the remap it just shifts your power curve to the left. You'd get more out of a lower rear end but I have yet to see anyone get that to work on our generation car thanks to the electronics. I'm assuming you have the upper pulley which requires you grind the Supercharger Snout. I did the pulley without the remap and just didn't think the change was worth the cost when I was done.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought these year cars couldn't be tuned? That' what I've read before. The pulley I have isn' the bigger one. It' ssupposedly the direct fit type without belt modification. The 1.5
Assuming 2002 model =4.0 litre, l always understood these were not able to be remapped.
also notice the company referenced does not list the 4.0 ltr.
Maybe a phone call might be in order before you remove the ecu.
I have the 4.2 and just installed Powerhouse pulley had to file down the snout,, ended up rebuilding super charger while I had it out. I have no Dyno before or after, but love the difference it really does feel like a very noticable increase throughout the range,. Traction control kicks in a lot more, even on dry roads booting it at 50 mph or so. Gas milage has improve d because you drive the car barely touching the gas.
So I would highly recommend it on the 4.2, ECU tune usually improves any care, so would see additional increase, however most places will say it is not necessary with pulley only.
Best to go to eurotoysltd.com and checkout the goodies for the 4.0 Supercharged Engine...They have been doing Pulleys, both top & bottom for years and have everything you will need.....I've never heard of having to file down the snout and things like that! Eurotoys can help you....call them! They have a kit just for this....
And yes if you change-out both Pulleys, I guarantee you will be a happy Guy! and NO you don't need to reprogram your Computer on a 4.0.....as a matter of fact....You Can't!

You have to file or grind it down if you choose the 2. 5 lb pulley. The 1.5 is said to fit without modifications. I'd love to have them both, honestly. The problem is getting someone to do the work.
OK granted I never did the lower pulley but I did do the smaller upper one that required the nose be shaved. You still have to get the boost pressure up for lasting HP gains and the ECU opens the valve at around 12 pounds of boost. Unless you can keep that valve closed you just move the power to the left (I did lots of Dyno runs). Granted that does give you a nice kick off the line but you take a hit at the other end of the curve (which isn't that bad unless you are trying for 200 MPH and given we are limited without a remap to 165 who cares). If you can increase the boost pressure however you get a far better HP jump. Best path is to pull the supercharger and go to a Kenny Bell Twin screw. It is about a $10K upgrade but I've seen folks claim HP boost of up to 200 HP+ with it which, even without a lower rear end, will wake up the neighbors. You'd also need to go to an anti-lock rear end which is another $3K or so otherwise you'll just do really impressive one wheel burn outs. There are a several threads on the Kenny Bell upgrade and there are several kits for this out there (that supposedly have the same core work associated with them with lots of allegations of theft). (the last link showcases you will never get this money back but if you truly want a bad *** XKR this is the only true path to it, I'm still tempted but just started an XKE project and the XKR is on vacation until that is done).
I had my Eurotoys pulley put on by PSE. I also did a lot of research looking for an ECU tune.
No one can guarantee a tune on pre 2006 Jaguar the year when the electronics went thru a significant change.
You might want to check out "quest for 450 hp" in this forum.
