My daughter has a 2003 x-type. Does anyone know who can cut and program a blank key close to Daytona Beach FL? She was late for work today because she only has one key and misplaced it. I am trying to get her a spare for in case of an emergency.

Any locksmith with a Xhose brand Condor XC Mini key cutting machine (XC-077 mini version) can cut a Jaguar X Type tribbe key.

I think if locksmith use such manual for key cutting machine, they can easily make many keys for their client's.

 

Jaguar link doesn't seems useful that's why i have taken help from locksmith.

 

The most popular "code duplication" machine is the HPC Blitz. The Tibbe key adapter for this is about $300, so most locksmiths don't do Tibbe keys.

Early transponder programmers may not work on the chip used for Jaguars. Later models should. That means that pretty much any locksmith can clone the transponder, if you have a new key.

Just today, I received the Tibbe adapter and some blanks. Once I test the equipment (including programming), I will be able to provide either non-programmed keys from a photo of your key, or programmed keys if you mail me one of yours. DO NOT SEND THE ONLY KEY YOU HAVE!!! Pricing will be about $40 per key, including return 1st Class postage.

To cut and program jaguar keys at cheap, contact Jaguar dealership. No doubt they are costly than locksmith but they will provide you the original key.

 

One can cut a key with the help of the manual but it's not possible to program a key. For that, you have to visit a dealer or a locksmith.

 

These key cutting and programming machines are available at locksmith stores nowadays. You can get a new key from them.

 

Key cutting machines are not readily available to all locksmith stores at all so it's better to call jaguar dealership for key cut and program.

 

I've never seen a locksmith who didn't have at least one key cutting machine.

Many, if not most, have the HPC Blitz machine, which cuts keys by a code, rather than relying on duplicating and existing key. The Tibbe adapter for the Blitz is readily available (I had no trouble getting one), but it costs $300, so few of them get it.

Very few dealers have the right machine and adapter, so they are unable to do anything other than buy a key from the upstream suppliers. They charge a LOT for that. That's why I got started in key cutting in the first place -- it was going to cost too much to get keys for the several X-types that I had.
