Closeups of my 2009 vents. At first glance, they may appear to be the same as the vents on the non--Portfolio models, but they're not. I'm pretty sure that they're milled from a single piece of aluminum billet and polished, which accounts for the ridiculous cost. Enlarge the photo and note the inner mesh screen. USA MSRP is $1,050 (not a typo) each side, but can be bought for less online. At that price, they should be functional vents, but I'm not sure. No. It appears to be somewhat similar, but is not identical. It has the Leaper in place of the side repeater lamp, is made of several sections, and the mesh appears to be different.

I would not really want Ian Callum to take all the credit for my car. If anything I want a Malcom Sayer edition, or Austin Powers portfolio.
If you were to cut out behind the vent where and what would it do.
At best you'd hope to draw some air out of the engine bay. All depends on the pressure differences and hose many opening there are between the fender and the engine bay. Ascetically it's worth installing the other vents to me. I'd love to find a spare pair even a broken set would help me fab some up versus taking mine off for an extended period of time.
Looking at Suart's image, they used a 5 axis CNC to cut that vent passage...
Usually the cowl area is higher pressure. Hard to say where the break over point is heading towards the front. Running home on a frosty morning the vents don't defrost unless I'm sitting at a light. At speed they stay frozen. Even morning dew stays wet around the vents unless I'm putting around town. Not sure if that's a good reference or not.

Thanks for following the thread and your welcome input.
Haven't had a lot of time behind the wheel. When I picked up the car there was an intermittent fault with the Air conditioning. The local dealer diagnosed it as a faulty Engine Cooling Fan Module ($2100 part). I was not game to drive it until it was repaired... .well same o same o...still had the fault after part and 4 hours labour!!!. To add insult to injury the head lining collapsed while in their care (would have happened anyway)
They re-diagnosed the fault as a small part in the compressor...success...all good now ...
Head lining replaced after sourcing the ivory colored suede (great match)..A company in Coffs carried out the work and did a lovely job. Very happy with Beckhouse upholstery.
The wheels let the car down a little. They are the gloss black Kalimnos (?) but the detailer may have a loose relationship with a spray can. Wheels off to get reccoed next week with a bit of luck.
The small drives I have had impressed me...plenty of power...and the steering is way better that expected...points in very very well.
I have come from a 981 Porsche 2013 and they are very different vehicles. More power in the XKR...easier to get in and out of in the XKR. It is also quieter and more comfortable (not to mention better creature comforts and sound system)

Interesting - it sounds a bit like a hybrid of the 75 and the 175, both released about that time. Same colours and Speed Pack (body kit, raised speed limiter) as the 75, but like the 175, without any other performance mods. The 75 was Europe-only, the 175 was USA/Canada-only, and your Heritage Edition was Oz-only.
