Default ECU Pin Out Diagram (DENSO)

Hey Gents,

I'm in communication with Richard from Aquamist about a W/M system for my 2012 XFR with Denso ECU. Might anyone have or lead me in the direction to find a "ECU Pin Out Diagram" and a picture of the "pin out face of ecu with the wiring harness removed."

Thank you.

I have the XJ (which might be different from the XF?) electrical diagrams but the ECU literally has 100+ pins and is covered by 12-20 pages in the manual. Do you know what he is looking for?

Which sensors or outputs?

I think he is looking for Direct Injection Duty Cycle, Manifold Pressure, Fuel Rail pressure, Air Temp, EGT, ...

They're in the workshop info / TOPIx but trying to wire into it sounds crazy instead of changing the software (i.e. normal tuner re-map). What's the reason not to do that?

The Aquamist system allows for multiple inputs (signals) to regulate the meth injection through their fast acting valve. Also, the failsafes are numerous. That is why he is asking for the diagram to tap into the lines for inputs and failsafes.

Haven't been able to find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

As I've mentioned to others who've gone down this path - these kind of values are not wires you can just tap into any more, the ECU of engines like this encode all these values as data which is sent on the High Speed CANBUS network. That's marked on the wiring diagrams here:

Sure, there are still sensors passing analogue voltages to the ECU, but tapping into these without affecting the signal passed to the ECU is tricky at best, and they're not necessarily in a format you want.

CANBUS has fundamentally changed how vehicle systems are wired, and the problem with a lot of these aftermarket systems is that they haven't accounted for the changes and progressions in engine management systems especially. They just send you the same instruction sheet like it's still 1992 and you can just hook the kit up to some simplistic EFI management system - it's not like that any more, and that has been one of my reservations when investigating the possibility of water injection etc. Car manufacturers are under no obligation to make these signals accessible or even easy to find, and moving to a CANBUS network model rather than having a wire going everywhere it needs to like in the 1980s has saved car manufacturers a hell of a lot of money (and weight!).

I'm sure it's certainly possible to interface these systems but it could well end up being very complex and/or expensive.

It's funny how CAN in cars has been used for about 20 years yet some of these modding guys still have no idea about it.

I'd avoid anyone so ignorant!

yeap...i can vouch for what davetibbs just said. The signal may be in one of those pin outs, but it is either not analog, therefore unusable, or it 5v and as soon as you try to tap into it, the ECU will throw a fit (and possibly fry itself).

I grabbed the signals from the OBDII port...but...had to get partnered up with an Elec. Eng. to create a canbus interface that works with our cars. PM me with more details and I can run it by him to see if the solution he came up with would work for you.

Thank you. I just sent you a PM. Curious, is it something specific with our Jag's DENSO ECU/CAN bus network. Seems like the other platforms (BMW, MERC, CADDY) are able to wire these systems without too much complaint.

I have a PDF of the 2012 XF electrical wiring diagrams, including the 5.0 V8.
It's of little use to me coz it's all Greek to me, but you blokes might be able to use it.
In my Dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tacin632na...grams.pdf?dl=0

Thank you... yeah the beauty of CAN bus in all its glory...a long road map of squiggly lines. I purchased Topix for the day and sat by the computer browsing through the info for hours.

Update - I have been working with Raul (Cherry_560sel) on the CAN bus adapter for the Aquamist System. Hopefully should have something together soon.

I also wanted to share the ECU diagram that Richard from Aquamist provided after several emails on the ecu pin out/wiring diagram (see attachment). Richard was looking for some feedback.

Ultimately, I will be going with the adapter Raul has been working on for the Jag, for the signals to the Aquamist HFS-4 system.

Hey I was wondering if you were ever able to find a complete Pin Diagram for a 2010-2012 Denso ECU?
