Default Is the Steering Arm Bolt behind the Front Shock Absorber Wired?

Hi Guys

Is the Steering Arm Bolt behind the Front Shock Absorber Wired?

I know the ones on the Caliper are but not sure about the one that's right behind the Front Shock Absorber

Although I don't think that it is Wired

If it isn't Wired then I'm wondering why not?

Off the top of my head, I believe all three are wired. Additionally, the illustration on jaguar classic parts shows holes for all three bolts.

Hi Sidescrollin

Cheers!

I've got another Bolt with holes in so I will swap it over

I can't see the one on the other side of the Car to compare it, as its too close to the wall, or at least it is until I can manage to get it out of my shop

If you use loctite the wires are sort of superfluous. I used it anyway just to keep things the way they were.

Hi Sidescrollin

I think I might pass on the Locktite, as the Caliper Bolts were in so tight that I had to cut the Steering Arm off with an Angle Grinder

OB
The steering arm is bolted to the upright in two places:
  1. Just above the stub axle (I think the one you mean by behind the shocker). This is NOT wired.
  2. As part of the fixing of lower of the two calliper bolts. This bolt is wired to the upper calliper bolt.
Extra wiring cannot hurt, but it is not needed on the bolt (1 above) providing the bolt is torqued properly. That bolt is not drilled for wiring OEM. I am pretty sure the calliper bolts are wired for brake safety reasons, as those bolts are subject to considerable vibration and stress when the brakes are applied.

Hi Greg

That's what I thought, as only two of the Bolts were drilled for wire, though Sidescrollin's drawing shows three

Not all the JCP drawings are accurate, including the one that shows the infamous v12 gearbox mount!

Hi Greg

That Shocker Bolt (without the wire holes) went in so snug, I don't want to disturb it and the state of play at the moment is

I have already got one new Caliper on but I can't do the one on the other side as it is too close to the wall

But I can't drive the Car out because the Brakes aren't working at the moment, so I will have to try and Tow it out of the Garage

One of the problems being that although they can put a man on the Moon, they can't decide what the Weather will be like on Sunday and Monday

First we were expecting Snow and now we're expecting a Heatwave 9o/c but as for Monday they don't seem to know

And I don't know if 'The Ice Princess' has got any Antifreeze in and so the day is already turning into a massive Jig Saw puzzle of what to do for the best

But right now we've got to go Shopping 'Cause its Easter' not sure what difference that makes but no doubt you have been there!
