Default high beam switch

when i pull the high beam lever, the high beam works fine but, it stays on eventhough the lever is back in center position. i need to push the lever lightly toward dashboard until high beam shuts off. high beam also sometimes goes on while turn signaling.

what do i need to replace or repair?

If your car has the active headlamp system what you are seeing with the turn signal is the cornering lamp coming on as well as the headlamp itself moving in the direction of the turn once the steering wheel is turned.
There is probably nothing wrong with the headlamp high beam operation - the detente might be a bit soft and you are probably going past it when you pull the lever.

Did you ever find a solution for this problem? I recently bought an 2011 XK and it just started doing exactly what you're describing. Thx much.

Just use it for awhile, they get a bit sticky from sitting too long. Both forward to turn on high beams and pull to flash motions.

Agree with Cee Jay. Good news is that the switch is used on heaps of Jags and is easy to replace if needed.
