Default Electrical Randomly Reboots

I've got a strange thing happening. The best I can describe it is that the electrical system randomly reboots. I will be driving along and my android auto screen will go blank for a fraction of a second, and at the same time my radar detector that is plugged into the dash plug will reboot. It does it about once per hour while driving, and it doesn't seem to affect anything else. It has no affect on the engine or any other systems.

Any idea what this could be? It just started happening about a week ago. My car is a 2016 V6S. I haven't done anything to the vehicle immediately prior to this happening. I added the UAD Android Auto unit about 3 months ago, and the radar detector about 2 months ago.

Mine did this a few times. It was the negative battery clamp slightly loose. It's tapered and needs to be pushed down to get it tight on the post.

I'll double check this when I get a chance. I did disconnect the negative cable when I was working on the stereo to add the android auto unit.

I had exactly the same problem, it was loose negative cable on the battery, installed by the dealer...

Even when the nut is tight it can still be loose on the post. I always try wiggling the clamp after tightening it to make sure it's on there tight.

While you are checking the negative cable take it off and make sure both the inside of the clamp and the post are clean as well.

Correct, the post is conical and you have really push the cable down. Ideally, loose it, push all the way down, then tighten it.

I have also had it be the actual android auto unit as it basically controls the screen. a power cycle of the unit itself usually solves it if it is just the screen and audio. If it is your headlights also then bad ground.

I had something similar when my battery was on its last legs.
