Jaguar F-Type Sound Comparison From The Track: V6 vs V8
I have V8 and honestly i like the V6 sound better.
For me (everybody may have their own) the V6 sound an high presission tuned engine, when V8 sounds raw chaos by cubic inches.
I think Jaguar did made the exhausts for different models like this in purpose.
Btw: Accelerating with "light foot" the V8 gives totally different sounds. Played a bit on wet skidpad on local test track where heavy foot is way out immediatly and find different sounds

V6 - sounds more sporting with exotic overtones. closer in spirit to a Porsche or Lotus like sound if you compare your F-Type to those cars, best when wide open at high revs.
V8 - much more brutal, dirty, raw sound, to me the V6 probably edges it out in exotic tone in the very upper RPMs, but I like the part throttle sound/rumble of the V8 better at part throttle when driving around town.
Both are amazing sounds, very different, and each person will have their own preference

Personally, I like the V6 sound better. It's actually reminiscent of the straight six sound. Where the V8 is, well, a V8 muscle sound. But both sound good.

This is a topic that seems to come up a lot. 2 things can be true at the same time as they say…To me these are sounds that are just hard to compare, and they both have positive elements to speak of.
I do love the sound of those v6 f-types though. Not sure I’d give up my supercharged v8 for one, but they are pretty epic in their own right sound-wise. Really awesome.
There is no answer here…lol

Had both, prefer the V8 but it's very monotone, just get louder as the revs rise. V6 has a wider array of sounds depending on the revs and load, it can sound deep, fruity, but also raspy which I didn't care for much, cheapened the car a little. Both sound great & should be celebrated.
