I have recently gotten this jag for 900 dollars I’m 14 about to turn 15 and this is going to be my first car I obviously see a lot of problems with the interior but at the moment I am more concerned with the inside the only issue the buyer said was wrong with it is that it does not have a fuel tank in it at the moment because the person he took it to to have some work done on it let it sit and water got into the tank but it’s been sitting here for 5-6 ish years and me and my dad haven’t gotten it to our house yet to really look and work on it he is a mechanic so I think we are gonna be in decent hands but still any observations or absolutely anything is welcome to help us get this up running and looking as beautiful as it can please help
The X300 / AJ16 engine after sitting for storage period may not start being put in a condition called a bore wash . This is degradation of the oil sealing at the piston rings causing lack of compression
To overcome this , remove the plugs and pour a bit of marvel mystery oil and rotate engine through , 33 or 34 mm on the crankshaft bolt . Install plugs and start with foot off pedal . It will smoke alot until burned off , The sealing will naturally re establish itself from under the piston
The fuel pump will run for 3 seconds only then off , it will come back on when the CKPS sees engine rotation
Fuel pressure after fuel pressure regulator 43 psi
The model is XJR6 1995 its just been sitting out in the open all these years no real storage but thank you for the info and I hope for more if that does come up it will most definitely be put to good use, it pains me to say how beat this car’s interior and exterior is I got in if today and apparently pushes my elbow too hard on the console in the middle causing the leather to completely crack along with many many other things wrong on the inside but my dad hasn’t even gotten the chance to take a look at the internals praying for good news when he does
Being outside presents the fuel fill well water drain line being clogged so water gets in fuel through the screw cap seal not perfect . the fuel can be siphoned out with a 7 foot / 1/ 4 inch hose by the large reels at the hardware store, forgot you don't have tank
The 1995 wiring guide is not as clear as the 1996 with the main difference the 2 external lights modules up front under bonnet vs. 1 in the trunk after VIN # Y

I don’t really have a budget it’s gonna be a fix up with me and my dad to get my first car up running and looking good and I don’t have a fuel tank even on it so I wouldn’t think I’d have to worry about water getting into it
take a medium sized tool bag stuffed with tools to a pull-a-part near you, stuff the inside pockets with fuses, relays, small bulbs, jag head rim cover cap, and all the plastic trim pieces you need it's what I do lol
Vegang means find parts cars in local pick n pull yards, it's what we all do.
Look for a fuel tank in the yards, make sure the xjr setup is the same as the regular x300 version.
Where are you located?

So you should probably just replace the visor clips that are broken. They are still available HOWEVER you will have to modify them so that they don't break again, which they will, if you just straight up rep[lace them.
1. Find small metal flat washers that fit the screws and the hole. The original install did not use a metal washer, and this is a design mistake.
2. Fill the insider cavity with 2-part liquid epoxy to strengthen the plastic visor structure. Once cured, along with the washer, will last you a lifetime. I've had mine for over 20 years without a failure.
Without these modifications, the new ones will not last very long.
There is a X300 wrecker in the LA basin using E - bay that as you contact them though the E - bay contact can look in the yard for a specific interior part
The XJR does have 2 fuel pumps , in normal operation only # 1 comes on and not until 4000 rpm does # 2 , stays on as you come down to 3200 then off , this may trick you if you try to hear # 2
While looking at battery never over tighten the positive terminal bolt , splits special curved nut underneath and never install battery backwards , positive post fwd and mark with tape , a shop will put it in backwards so this a thing you must insist to be able to observe on the shop floor
The original X300 headlight silvering can only be cleaned so far and then silvering removes , X308 swap as much improved , mark headlight positions an up and down as can get lost in reinstallation because of the curves
The wheels if clear coated will only clean so far with aged clearcoat so consider stripping with aircraft grade pint stripper , do the spare first
The speakers if original most likely be dry rotted and a cheap solution , the original Jaguar / Alpine AJ9500 stereo head can be modified by yourself to take a input jack for your MP3 and such , Your original Jaguar stereo head is 20 watts per channel X 4 with a Toshiba X final stage amplifier
And for some very British music as she graces the road , your engine is a true Hemi with an over squire setup , compression ratio of 12 to 1 on the normally aspirated and 8.5 on the supercharged so may not be oversquare
And for a turn on by a normally aspirated X300 with 5 degree biasing CKPS bracket with custom exhaust , a factory CKPS bracket normally aspirated 4 liter X300 can beat a 4 liter mustang off the line even though mustang 1000 pounds lighter
