im interested to hear some after market exhaust sound clips on your jag's. I want to buy an exhaust system for my 98 xjr that i can actually hear. Something civilized not to crazy, just want to hear my jag roar a bit when i get on the gas. let me know if you have any sound clips i would love to listen. thnx.

My setup will be different than yours becauseI have an STR. The cost will be comparable. I had a shop install the muffler, but installed the intake myself.

Nice thank you. So i assume you are happy with your system? . Have you heard any other exhaust brands? if you did wich ones and would u recommend your system or another one. I like the way yours sounds, i just havent heard any other.

 

I am happy with my setup so far. I have read about other setups using different manufacturers, but the cost was much more than what I paid for mine. You can check on Youtube for videos of exhausts for specific cars.

 

My friends girlfriend took this video when me and him were racing and screwing around.. it's short but you get the idea..

whitestr thats sounds good you said you have custom exhaust is that just mufflers? do you have the resonators?change the piping?im selling my v8 s-type for an R and first thing im doing is exhaust.

The cost of the pipe, mufflers, tips, x-pipe was just over 200 and me and a friend welded it and installed it....

 

here is mine V12 with radical cams, hi-comp.

a little over the top, got pix no sounds, but you get the idea.LOL

but i recently reinstalled a set of performance magnaflow muffler.

 

Sounds tough from the outside, I'll bet it would be deafening on the inside with that type of set up. Totally illegal in Aussie to run without Catalytic converters and mufflers. OK for the Drag track and some time trials etc.

I have a 5 ltr.v8 with extractors and just love the throb of a V8, the sound of my v6 X- Type doesn't do a thing, stock factory standard, sounds like a Rice Burner a little, but the car goes great anyway and satisfies the wife

Well.. it still has the catalytic converter (upgraded from the Magnaflow) and the resonator.. it just missing the muffler.
but has added the muffler since.

so it sound much better.
(the sound is loud...but i have my whole trunk cover with sound deadening material. so its quiet at the back seat.
