Love it !!! Yeah !

Well now...watch this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59fybrrUGEw&NR=1

BTW - What is the "real" 0-62MPH for the XKR ?
On the technical spec (conservative), it's 4.6s for the Coupe.

Car & Driver tested the new XKR 2010 : 4.0s ! (CTS-V is 3.9s to 4.1s depending on the tests) - So VERY close !!

"...It needed just 4.0 seconds to sprint to 60 and 8.8 seconds to reach 100 and rushed through the quarter in 12.3 seconds at 119 mph. If the car hooked up better, the times would likely have been even more impressive. Compared with the previous XKR, we achieved a shorter 70-to-0-mph stopping distance (160 feet versus 163), along with more grip on the skidpad—0.92 g, up from 0.89."

They say the DCT clutch-auto transmission makes for gnarly acceleration runs from a dig. It optimizes wheel spin. 4.0sec to 60mph is incredible, and it beats the E55 and E63 previous gen models. The new suspension is reportedly vastly improved as well.

Looks like slow motion. Probably driven by 75 year old retirees

Not bad for a car that costs about $65K before dealer discounts.

CTS V would definitely win on a longer race such as a road race due to the fact that the Jag would have to stop many times for repairs.

Surprised that the XF-R was even close! Would've thought the CTS-V would've blown it away!

I'm thinking the Jag is slower, but it's easier to make the Jag go fast. The CTS-V is supposed to be hard to squeeze all the performance out of.

Still, XFR not to be sneezed at and I think if someone like THE STIG gets in XFR and CTS-V driven by an average driver , results may vary

I sold my 07 Z06 to buy my wife the 08 Jag XK (BTW it's going to the dealer for the 5th time in 6 months on a flatbed tomorrow) and have been out shopping for a "toy" for me and found a pre-owned 11 CPO CTS-V coupe with 6K miles for $57K. That's got to be one of the best automotive deals in the performance car market on the planet.

But sadly until I get the 08 XK fixed (warranty expires on the 20th and the dealer better fix the bugs this time) I can't spend any $$ on toys.

Tom, sorry to hear about your issues on your 08 XK.
I just wanted to share my personal experience...I own a 2010 XKR (new generation), and didnt get any issue so far...0
I love this car, and would buy it again.
I also add the chance to test the CTS-V coupe on a track, at Monticello.
This is indeed a beast, very powerful, and for the money...difficult for the competition.
Now, the automatic transmission is slower than the XKR, and the interior cannot compete..as far as the design is concern I really prefer the Jag, it's a personal choice, but I get questions each time I stop at the Gas station...XKR is very attractive, looks like an Ashton Martin, and we know why. I love this !
Lastly, there is no Gas guzzler on the XKR...My average is 21 miles per gallons. You won't get this with the CTS-V, more around 12 !!
Good luck for your next car
Bruno

Wow. I am really surprised the XFR is on par with the CTSV at the 1/4. I really expected the V to pull away hard from the R. Good work Jag!

LOL
LSA needs a pulley and a tune for 600hp. Then there is the exhaust, intake, porting supercharger, etc. The LSx has such massive aftermarket support, that switching to twins is not difficult (pricey) and when the LSA internals start to become the weak point, there is the factory LS9 parts, if aftermarket boosted parts for the 6.2 aren't your fancy.
