In doing some searches here I see folks mention "ABS blink test"
I have never heard of this before.
Can anyone point me towards some directions on how to perform this test?

Look in your trunk on the left side, behind the carpeted trim panel, for a large brown electrical connector near the ABS module. If you have that connector, you can perform the ABS Blink Test. Here's how to do it, courtesy of Bryan N at the Jag-Lovers forum:
Turn the ignition OFF;
At the PM4 diagnostic connector in the trunk near the ABS Module; Here's Bryan's photo of the connector on his RHD car (on an LHD car the ABS Module and test connector are on the left side of the trunk):
Insert a jumper wire between the terminals for the Black (ground) and Brown/Pink wires;
Turn the key to position II and watch the warning lamp in the instrument cluster:
After six seconds, the blink sequence for the first code will begin;
Count the blink pulses and write down the resulting two-digit number;
After a 6.5 second pause, the next code will begin, and so on until all codes are indicated and the warning lamp remains off;
Turn the ignition OFF and remove the jump wire from the PM4 connector;
The fault codes are grouped in batches of nine (although all are not used) 11 to 19, 21 to 29, 31 to 39, etc up to 71 to 79.
The system will only identify one code from each batch on one scan (the lowest numbered code in that batch). That fault must be cleared and the ECU re-set (by driving the car at a speed in excess of 19 mph) before the next fault code in a batch can be read by repeating the above procedure]
So the first number of flashes (blinks) you see will represent the tens, then a brief pause and then the second number of flashes (blinks) represent the units. e.g. blink blink pause blink = code 21 followed 6.5 seconds later by e.g.blink blink blink pause blink blink blink blink = code 34
I'll have to see where I stored the list of codes and their meanings.

I scanned from such a set. I did this chapter to get a sense of work effort in hours, how it would turn out and tech issues. And brakes is a topic of broad interest/applicability.
