Thumbs up Repair Centre Visit....

Hi All,

I've pinched a leaf out of Jims book (sorry Jim :-)) and am in the middle of trying to get an automatic box repair specialist on board in the Brighton area.. subject to negotiations going better than they did with Jaguar I was wondering if any of you might be interested...

Finally I have an update - a hopefully positive one :-) The Director of the auto box specialist in Brighton is interesting in discussing things further on 17th September - my hope is to organise a visit to their workshops if I can (at best case) or at worst case at least organise some kind of discount for Jaguar Forum members.. I will let you know as I go (as I always do) noting that I am keeping this as an exclusively JaguarForums event if I can negotiate anything :-)

I have had a chat with the director at the Automatic Gearbox Centre in Brighton and he is happy for us to visit and see how they work, and he has a few old and recent Jaguar boxes there we can have a look at. We are looking at a Saturday morning meet for this (date to be arranged) for up to five members to visit.
This is on a first come first served basis as spaces are very limited..
Soooo.. who is up for it?

It's a great opportunity to ask all those questions about faults or servicing our auto boxes, and to see what goes on in a specialist repair centre.. they are even happy to pull out some actual Jaguar boxes for us to see and discuss. I think it's a great chance to meet with a company that knows Jaguar boxes.. so if you would like to come along just put your name forward - it's a free event, and I will check on parking availability etc prior to our going OK? They are a small specialist centre so the people you meet there will be the actual people working on your box if you have a problem - so why not come along? Very limited spaces for this one so to guarantee a place please sign up sooner rather than later..

Come on guys... a Saturday morning out with a few other Jaguar owners with the perfect excuse that it is educational!

Bump......

It can be difficult getting decent numbers Steve as you know, sometimes, sending a few pm's to those you know in a reasonable radius and cross forum posting may help.

Looks like it could be a good day, hope you get some numbers

Anything I can do please let me know

Jim

I'm considering giving launching this another go Guys... Kevin, who you met at the last Brighton meet is still happy for us to visit and have a look around if anyone is interested in a jolly to an autobox repair shop - an ideal few hours out if you have transmission problems :-)

Hi Bamforp - if we can get 5 or so of us up for this I am up for arranging it absolutely no problem.. currently family life, and a growing list of issues with my new XJ (reversing sensors, and then ABS, and now wheel nuts lol) are occupying me but if we can get this off the ground for maybe September or October time I would be happy

I have a friend who has just bought an XK8 and I am sure I could get him interested as well.

Cheers
