Guys, as some of you probably already know I have a XKR. The thing is that its on a cherished plate. T29XJR. Notice the mistake? Yes its a XKR on a XJR reg. I am about to rectify that by putting it on a plate more appropriate.

It seems a shame to hand the XJR plate directly back to the DVLA. Of course I could flog it on one of those number plate sites. I did do a brief check and its worth between £600-£900 + vat + fees. But all I am interested in really is less hassle and covering my costs. If I was to put it on retention it would cost £105, DVLA Costs not mine.

So anyone want to make me a offer? As I said before it seems a shame to hand it back to the DVLA but that option would not cost me anything and be less hassle. Over to you.

Well new plate on order. So will have to sell it to a number plate site if I dont get any takers on here. Id make more money, but that's not the idea.

I'll be interested to hear if the number plate sites actually buy plates or just list them and take percentage if they sell ......

One site did offer me cash. But I rejected it as it was not a very good offer.

Most of the sites are, as you said, the we will sell it for you and take a cut type.

Got the retention form for the plate I have just bought. Will give it a few more days then put it on the XKR.
