Hooray. I've had great hols in Scotland and having to use a passport plus maybe another currency would've been a pain.

I'd like to see Salmond et al step down. Bet they won't.

so so sad, its now all kicking off in Glasgow, my biggest fears reaslised as the vote was so close.
It now looks like a country divided by those that voted no and those for yes, as the no voters stream through the town in a really aggressive and violent way.

Fights / abuse / shouting and screaming that we haven't seen until now and the no vote won, what would they have been like had they lost??

Hoping its a one off, few isolated clashes here n there and not repeated.

Scotland seems to be making this about religion rather than politics.
I'm ashamed.

Bummer.
That's bad news and a somewhat unexpected response (although, to be fair, and in the sanctity of my Southern English thatched cottage, I thought that Glasgow was like that every night anyway).
Unfortunately, in any democracy when there is a straight 2 party vote there is going to be up to 49% of the population who will be pissed off at the result; on the bright side (for the rest of us anyway) only 45% of the Scot are pissed off at the moment so we don't have to get the Italians in to put the wall back up again..
I sincerely hope that this result does not affect the distilleries.

A pivotal point in a 307 year old relationship: maybe a trial seperation? You keep the Whisky but we have custody of Faslane?
I think that the whole situation was summed nicely by Annie's 21 year old co-worker Charlotte: 'If Scotland seperates from England, where are they going to put it?'
I blame the parents.

And common sense did prevail through the silent majority despite the intolerance of the SNP that anyone with a different point of view was bullying or didn't know what they were talking about! The other good outcome of the Referendum is that we won't have to listen anymore to that divisive character Salmond - his departure in November can't come soon enough.
