Ok guys, I have officially opened Pandoras box today and have started working through the preferences everyone (quite reasonably - and I would be the same) has as to who they are happiest being near, or not as the case may be. I am currently about 25% through getting everyones preferences in, and then I should be able to publish the planned layout and see if anyone requires any further final tweaks before the layout is finalised.

Ok things are going smoothly (at this exact moment in time) regarding our event :-)

I have been enquiring regarding the three possible additional awards for the day that our sponsors very kindly sponsored last year, hoping they will be kind enough to do the same this year - more info on that as and when I manage to get feedback.

Our photo album for this years event can now be found here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ao-7HJVAHqvXnSjtLh0-n8i8cxPI for those of you without social media, and we also have an album in place on our Facebook page - you are welcome to look now if you want, but there is only one image there so far :-)

The layout for the day has now been worked out, bar any minor tweaks, and you should see a copy of my incredible artwork (incredible for a spider on paper :-)) online at some point tomorrow.. it will give you an idea as to the layout for the day, and where to find everyone at our main venue.

The general feedback I have been getting today from our event sponsors, and attendees is very positive, for which I am grateful :-) Without everyone getting involved in all the ways that they are, we would not have the day we have got planned. A massive THANKYOU to everyone!

OK, as promised here is the planned layout for the event - please note it is not to scale, and I apologise for the quality of my work - my art teacher back in the 80s would have seen this as a big step up from me I think :-)

However it does show you who to expect to see on the day, and where everyone will be. I do however again apologise for the art quality, and and spelling or typo errors :-)

OK, it's that time of the week again :-)

This week has been quite busy for us - I have been talking to our event sponsors and clubs/forums that will be at our event, and as a result we now have the final layout for our event (which you have hopefully seen by now). Looking at the layout, this is without a doubt the largest event we have run to-date. Last year, we didn't use the central area - and we all had a lot of walking to do to get to see everything. So we have a new layout that guarantees no-one is more than a few metres (or yards :-)) from the stands, talks, awards or prize draw. There is a flip side to this, as I have just had one potential event sponsor walk away due to the layout.. but I think this layout has more gains than losses for us, and we can scale it up depending on how many attendees and stands.. I hope everyone agrees :-)

I have also just started to follow up on the additional awards I am hoping I can get sponsored.. more news on that to come as soon as I know the outcome.

We still have spare capacity for more stands, if anyone would like a trade/club/forum plot but fundamentally I am now concentrating on attendee numbers, and getting the rest of the paperwork sorted for the day - I still need to produce convoy maps, welcome letters, registration sheets and a few other things. If I can get these all under control I can then start following up more on our sponsors pledges, and persuading my better half that it's easier to keep a house full of Jaguar goodies warm than an emptier house :-)

Here are the current stat's for our event so you can see what we currently have lined up for you (remembering I am not known for my statistical or mathematical accuracy :-)):

Our event forum threads have received over 21,400 views
Our event Facebook page has a growing following of 430 friends
Our Twitter feed now has 580 followers
Our Instagram feed 164 followers
We have 121 attendees and 71 Jaguars signed up
Our attending Jaguars span over 60 years of production
We have 17 incredible sponsors
We have 6 clubs/forums involved with our event this year
We have 3 Presentation slots or 'Talks by the Pro's' booked
We have 5 awards (am hoping to gain 3 more for us)

OK guys, we have just 94 days until our event and some tasks are coming to the limit of what I can manage, and other tasks are surfacing that I have yet to do.

As for event sponsorship, I have had no further takeups recently so I am concentrating on working hard with our current existing sponsors over the next days to make sure we have everything right for both you the attendees and them.

Event paperwork - as of today the attendee registration paperwork has been designed and printed up, leaving me with the convoy/drive mapping, welcome paperwork and 'support us' paperwork yet to do.

Welcome Packs - we have received items etc from one sponsor so far - all in storage for the moment, and I have started tracking down the advertising literature which will be going into the packs, prior to following up with our sponsors for the remaining items we are waiting on.

Soraya from DesignCats has asked for the data on stand sizes, so she can rework the planned layout into a real life layout - I am contacting everyone who will be specifically running a stand on the day, over the next week to ask for this info.

Our Facebook account has been really picking up - with European Jaguar clubs, and owners friending our event

Our Instagram account has been fairly quiet but becasue it is more difficult to use with a desktop I am only occasionally updating it

Our Twitter account has been gaining followers from the States lately, as well as the UK

Our website, whilst it has lulls and busy periods, is really starting to pick up some traffic which is great, incredible really as I am not a web designer in any way lol

We have had some more attendee signups this week which is fantastic - if you are considering signing up and have yet to do so please, please do so sooner rather than later - we have a great free Jaguar day out for you :-)

I had a day off from our event yesterday running the family members to appointments etc - not a problem as I could switch from the school run C1 to the S-Type for a day, and almost enjoy running everyone around lol

However, as always when I take a day off a lot starts to happen regarding our event. The links with European Jaguar clubs seem to be increasing - or at least we now have quite a number of them watching our event as we go, I have also had a number of people in touch regarding attending our event, as well as another two companies enquiring about possibly running stands at our event..

I am ploughing my way through everything at the moment playing catchup :-)

So, hopefully I should have some news for you all regarding our 2019 event in the next few days, and the plans for our tenth event to be our biggest ever event may well be starting to come into place. And yes, before you comment, those of you that know me know I usually plan a year ahead of where we are so two years ahead isn't such a stretch :-)

Coming up to 10 events - something I never ever invisaged doing lol - and with my wife asking me every year.. Why? lol

Anyway please keep an eye on this space, our 2019 event is not yet completely finalised and amongst oher things I am still in with a slim chance at two SS Cars that may be able to make it for us :-)

Its Friday , and that time again when I need to update you with how things are going with our event.

This week has been a busy week, but generally it has been the background work that you don't get to see going on :-) We have one potential sponsor/exhibitor that I have been trying to make contact with through the week, but we keep missing one another and they are my potential source of two showroom SS cars - I am still working on it though, and fingers crossed we may still be able to get them to our event this year :-)

Additionally I am still following up on leads that are in progress with a number of companies that I believe would be a good match for our event.

We have had more attendee signups, and on social media we are starting become much more connected with European Jaguar clubs which is great news as I continue to work towards our 10th event, which is already in the planning stages - yes I know we have this years event, and next years event to go, but I want our 10th anniversary to be a showstopper for us if I can possibly manage it. Onwards and upwards as they say :-) Mind you there is always that other phrase - plans of mice and men.... :-)

Meanwhile we still don't have all the info in regarding the models or years of Jaguars that will be attending this year, but I have collated all this weeks stats here for you so you have an idea of what to expect on the day. Please note I am dependant on the info I have, and am not known for my mathematical or statistical abilities so apologies for any errors...

76 Jaguars and 130 attendees now signed up
Our event forum threads have received over 24,300 hits to date
We have 17 incredible event sponsors
We have 8 trade stands currently which looks likely to increase as we approach the day
6 clubs/forums are participating this year
We have 3 'Talks by the Pro's' booked
5 awards currently , also likely to incrase nearer the time
Our event Twitter feed has a huge 584 followers now
Our Instagram account has 171 followers
& our Facebook page now has 444 friends

It's Monday, and it's been a busy weekend for our event.. we are now very, very close to closing negotiations with an incredible classic car body workshop that do everything from the basics through to complete restorations, and they will hopefully be bringing some classic Jaguars, in showroom condition, for everyone to see on the day..
Additionally Robornes and the Leather Repair company have produced two incredibe bespoke awards for you to win on the day.. pictures to hopefully follow later today..
Also, I am still in talks with two additional potential sponsors that would be a good match for us, and this weekend has seen our event garnering even more support from Jaguar owners in France & the Netherlands..
So, I can, even with our 2019 event still 84 days away, honestly say we have the biggest event to-date for you so please, please consider signing up - it's free to sign up for and attend, free awards, free talks by the Pro's and so much more - your only costs on the day will be food/drink (which will be discounted for attendees) and the Prize draw which is just £1 a ticket and helps towards covering the events running costs and you can win anything from the basics through to a Classic Jaguar experience. If you are worried about travelling to our event we have even managed to organise fixed price, guaranteed availability of rooms for attendees at the local Holiday Inn Express.

Just to let you know we have 81 days left until our event, and I am currently working on the convoy/drive routing, mapping, and printing for everyone.

This year we will have a very slight deviation on our usual route, making the route a little simpler for everyone to follow but still keeping the length of the convoy/drive to around 30 minutes and keeping the route suitable for Jaguars of any age.

This should be completed in the next couple of days, allowing for access to the colour printing that I am after, and then I can move onto the Introductory welcome letters that cover the itinerary, what we are doing and so on - hopefully getting them completed, and printed up by the end of next week.

If this all goes to plan, I should be making the final pre-event contact with our incredible event sponsors & supporters the week after next to start the process of collating the items for the Welcome Packs for you.

OK guys, I am pleased to say that I have managed to get the convoy element mapping, and routing all printed up - ahead of schedule..

I would like to say chuffed, but I am surprised in truth lol..

I am now onto the Introductory Welcome letters for the Welcome packs, and that will be all the paperwork I need to get completed for everyone, with just one optional sheet with the 'support us' info to possibly go..

For the first time in the history of our event I have managed to resource a colour laser printer for quite a bit of our paperwork :-) So you will find our Welcome pack info a lot less grey than usual.. We still have no budget, with everything we have being produced in-house, but managing to up our game nonetheless, giving you more every year as we go - hopefully you will like the results as we go...

I am sure as we approach our event, Fridays are coming by faster and faster :-) and time for an update on where we are with our event, with just 78 days to go.

The paperwork that comes with your Welcome Packs has all been designed, and the majority printed. I still need to print the Welcome letters, and some additional route map sheets, and will get the print runs completed next week.

I have started following up with our incredible sponsors regarding our Welcome Packs, and am hoping to get to a known point with the Welcome Pack contents by the end of next week.

Over time our event is proving of interest to Jaguar owners not just in Europe. We have even had an enquiry from an Australian Jaguar owner who plans to be in the UK around the time of our event and is hoping to drop in on us. We have Jaguar owners in the Netherlands looking to book with us for our 2021 event, quite a bit of interest from a number of European countries and a number of social media sites now linking with us as we head towards out 10th anniversary event.

This week there hasn't been any new signups, but nonetheless it has been a really busy week for our event with next week looking to be just as busy for us.
