Hey there, below is a quick pic. I'm looking to sort it out and perform a repair on the driver's fender, in the meantime the forum is helping me identify what color it is. It's got Russet (I think) interior with a replacement GM V6 engine. I'm OK with the engine as it's a rolling restoration that I can drive while getting it sorted. I definitely want to convert the bumpers too. It joins my 450SLC as a rolling resto and bumper conversion.

I had my F Type out for a short jaunt a few weeks ago during one of the warm weekend days.

St. Patricks Day will be here soon, of course that usually begats 2.5 months of weather like today LOL

 

I likely had my timing chain slip and need a tech that can redo my heads. Can anyone recommend anyone in chicago, chicago burbs or NW indiana? I was going to take it to euro toys but he no longer wants to do the work.

Yes, not ideal. The car itself is rust free and in great condition. I know its going to be expensive, but i'm hoping to keep this one on the road if possible.

Resuscitating this thread ... maybe this group can share resources in advance of the next driving season?

Me? I need a new bumper cover and under tray for my 2012 XK. I could also use some moral support as I look to track down an oil leak. (First one in four years.)

 

I've been busy repairing/restoring/upgrading my 1955 Mark VII in anticipation of warmer weather and streets with no snow/ice/salt.

Better days this summer when everything worked.


300 miles into a 2,000 mile road trip this fall the engine spun a bearing and destroyed itself.


New engine shortly after being delivered.


Converted the front drum brakes to disc brakes.


The rear disc brake conversion is still in progress.

 

Also in the area. I'm afraid there's no driving season for me -- it's a year-round daily commuter.

 

I am in Wheaton. The car only comes out in decent weather.
